I have $1500 to spend; which widescreen to buy?

Mike, direct view TVs are much less likely to have screen burn than RPTVs, but can still happen, you just have to work at it a lot harder. :b

I have $1500 to spend; which widescreen to buy?

You might also consider a refurbished Hitachi from uecweb.com as most models sell for about half the retail price. I heard some good reports from people who have purchased from them online. P.S. Plasma screens are also prone to screen burn by static images.

    Run/break in speakers?

    Need recommendations for $700 receiver

I picked up a Yamaha HTR-5280 from Sears where it retails for $799. If I recall correctly I paid about $450 for it as Sears will price match internet prices. I just went to yahoo shopping, searched for that model, printed out the price, and picked it up. Food for thought KW

DefTech Powerfield 15+ vs. Velodyne CT-150 Subwoofer

I don't have the luxury of auditioning various brands of speakers and other kinds of equipment. That being said, I liked the Def Tech PF15TL+ so much I bought a second. Use is 90% Movies rather than music.
