Kevin, yeah good question. I can only think of two DVD-A live releases... Allman Bros. and (I think) 38 Special. Side note, I was listening to the Doors - Live in Detroit, over the weekend in Logic 7 mode on my HK reciever... and The End came forth. Jim and John were in the center channel...
Just curious if the Alison Krauss 'New Favorite' SACD is a hybrid. Just wondering because Circuit City has both that and the redbook listed on there website for $13.99 ... not that have a SACD player yet, but with the some of the interesting titles supposedly coming out this year, (Garcia...
I agree with what Rich said.
If you want to download cd quality music, your gonna need to find 'lossless' files rather than 'lossy' files. Shorten (SHN) is the only way to go right now in that regard. If you like the Grateful Dead or other jam bands... there are plenty of SHNs on to download...
I thought David Cross's cd is just allright... not really great, not that bad... just entertaining. I laughed a little bit here and there. I think his cd is better labeled as social commentary rather than standup comedy. If you want comedy... Bill Hicks new cd, "Flying Saucer Tour", is the...
Rich ~ thanks much for taking the time and making an effort to find that info... very cool... much appreciated!
I found a real good price on the 1803 today, $333, but unfortunatley the eTailer is not a 'Denon Authorized Dealer'... so Denon will not honor the warranty. Guess I'll keep looking...
two brand new live albums that are getting played alot at my place...
Ednita Nazario - Acustico
Bill Hicks - Flying Saucer Tour Vol.1
... and some of my all time favorites...
Tori Amos - To Venus and Back
Elvis Presley - Madison Square Garden (early show)
& - That's...

Its not exactly what you were asking for, but at the bottom they have links to a graph showing which tracks are in stereo/mono and which albums to find them on. The...
I've bought from American Digital in the past, very prompt and they packed my order very nicely.

Dean, I agree with everything you wrote. I'm listening to Dosin' disc one right now, "at least I'm enjoying the ride ride... ride... ride" Good stuff. The first sets from these later years are usually more interesting to me than the second sets, as strange as that might sound.
I'm gonna offer a different opinion on Dosin' at the Knick. I think that release is just average at best. Granted the Terrapin is great, the Mind Left Body Jam that follows never really blossoms... thanks to Bobby playing fills instead of taking over the rhythm and letting Jerry soar above. I...
I wrote up a great reply last night with a bunch of recomendations, then lost it all by hitting the back button... d'oh!! :D
I'll agree with much of what was said already. Its tough recommeding official releases, they all have their own merits depending on what era and songs your like. If you...
Mike, I've got five of those titles on your list, Platoon Thin Red Line U-571 Saving Private Ryan We were Soliders all enjoyable indeed, yet my favorite war movie is... When Trumpets Fade I noticed nobody mentioned 'A Midnight Clear' yet, is this because of the Pan-and-Scan...
Keith, I picked this up today from Wall-Mart. They still have the same price as last week... $9.84
The bonus interview Cd is labeled as "The Post Army Interview" and clocks in at 12:41. Probably not essential, but a nice bonus just the same.
The Sound! This sounds way better than any...
Keith, I've read only good things about the remastering on this CD. By the way, the best price I've seen on this was at Wall-Mart, and it includes a bonus interview Cd.
heres a track by track reveiw...

Thanks for clearing that up Rachael. I noticed on Amazon they have the Standard Coltrane SACD being released Sept 10, 2002.
Mike, makes sense not to wait... and with all the unintended beneifits, how could I go wrong.
By the way, I just picked up a used copy of the Complete Village...
First off thanks Rachael for the info on the SACD... that's great. That would be the way to go on "A Love Supreme". Second, thanks for the extended ramble Mike. Much appreciated, lots of great/funny/informative insights. Just the kind of primer information I was hoping for. Very cool.
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations & suggestions for starting a collection of Coltrane centered around the 1960s and the classic quartet. I am leaning toward picking up "The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings" first... but was wondering were to go from there? I've...
I can't really give a recomendation for ya Keith. Whats the point really? Why would you want to limit yourself to one cd of greatest hits, and miss out on all the excellent tunes from the 60s and 70s. I mean how many times can you really listen to tunes like hound dog and jailhouse rock...
He played near here last night, and though I didn't go... I heard he played a real good show. I think he's in his fifties now. Good to see he's still making music.
I've heard about 14 shows of the 2000 tour, and they all seem to be consistantly good. I never was a big pearl jam fan before these were released, but I dig bands who improvise, so I had to give em a try. I also love the idea that a band would release a whole tour on CD... HOW COOL IS THAT ...
Yeah I was surprised just how crappy the first episode looked. It almost looks like it came from a VHS master.
The second and third episodes (as far as I made it) look a little better... but some of the scenes, like when Hank is in Larry's office... have that VHS look to them.
Even though...
I was asking myself the same question earlier this week.
After alot of searching around I could not find anything regarding Season 2, the best I could do was designing my own cover using desktop images I found on http://www.sopranoland.com/. I ended up making one for a four CD Jewel case...
The Grateful Dead... hmmmm, lots of choices. You really can't go wrong with anything from May of 1977.
my personal favorites from that month...
5-7-77, 5-9-77, 5-18-77, 5-19-77, 5-21-77, 5-28-77.
The Dicks Picks Series has some tasty choices as well...
#3 (5-22-77)
#5 (12-28-79)
#8...
My favorite brand for the price would have to be the 50 pack spindle of Fuji-film (80mins). These 50 packs go on sale at various stores about once a month for $15, and usually come with another $5 mail in rebate.
These are made by Taiyo Yuden Company in Japan... who are well known for putting...
Her second solo album... POST and all of the cd singles related to it are all very good. Allthough there are some preprogramed drums within, it does not overshadow the songs or her voice.
The Sugarcubes was her band before she went solo. One of their beter albums... Life's Too Good. I...
I've been a fan of her first album, Pies Descalzos for a while now. I was kinda bummed this album was not featured more on the MTV Unpluged album... especially track 2 Antologia.
I'll have to pick up her newest here one of these days, from the few tracks I've heard, it sounds good.
I...
Does any body remember that song by Living Colour, "Cult of Personality"?
I've got a buddy, who for the longest time thought they were actually singing "Coke -ed up Personality" :) ;) :D
Just wondering if anybody has been able to find these in a Bricks and Mortar? According to Dvd Price search, they are out and about...
I'm not sure the Master would approve.
...there is no way out of here,
