I have noticed a lot of older films on Amazon are either poor quality, or they are not running at the right speed. I am streaming through a new LG OLED. Also, they have colorized versions that are awful.
I agree with TravisR , it is Creature from the black lagoon. The girl, the creature, and Shannon as Richard Carlson. So this really is not an original story. Another updated remake of a classic.
How exactly do they project in digital? Is the movie delivered to the theater on a dvd? Is it down loaded? Something I would really like to know. It just seem's to easy for movies to be bootlegged. Where I work I constantly see bootleggs being sold of first run movies, sometimes before opening.
I've been to state of the art theaters. Have seen digital and film. Film seem's to be brighter. Saw Interstellar in both Imax digital and 70mm. 70mm blew away the Imax. Film will be around for a long time.
I recently received a copy of El Cid from NetFlix. It was a region 2 copy that was awful. From some no name distributor. I called them, and they said they would send me another disc. Well, the same disc came again. Called again, and explained I wanted the Weinstein version that just got released...
Tony, that might be true. There was a long wait for this title,so I would think they would get the Weinstein disc. Maybe they have both, and it just depends on who is up next?
The copy I rented from NetFlix was not a Weinstein disc. The disc has El Cid on it. Under that was oriental writing. The disc is yellow. It was not anamorphic or in dd. Very blurry picture, almost looked like vhs. This was on a Panny 50" 1080p flatscreen. This means that there are infirior...
I rented this film from the. Are we talking about the same film? The transfer looked awful. It was not DD5.1. It was not anamorphic.. There was no studio name on the disc, except the word Garrys. Also under the words El Cid there was chinese or japanese writing, I would assume was the title. I...
I haven't looked at it in years. I'm pretty sure the laser disc version of IAMMMMW was the full version. I have the discs, but no longer have a laser disc player.
Actually I spend much less renting from NetFlix, $16 a month. that usually works out to about 12 to 15 dvds a month. Far less than when I was buying dvds every week. Don't get me wrong. I still buy dvds, but much, much less then I was. My next purchase will be Spiderman 3. I just find the NetFlix...
Having collected dvd's for many years now, probably own around 650 plus. I am to the point that I very rarely buy them anymore. I looked at my collection and asked, how many times have I watched these films? In most cases they have been viewed once or twice, except for a select few. Most of my...
Anyone of the first three Star Wars films. These looked really awful when they first came out on vhs. Also any of the Indiana Jones films. All composition was destroyed. Another thing. You would think that in todays day and age,the cable channels would show films in the proper aspect ratio. HBO...
The Mixing Bowl is about 1 mile from me. We went there the day after the show aired. Food was great, and they were very apprieciative that we watched the show.
25 minutes could easily have been cut from this film, the love story angle just doesn't work. Thats what slowed down Pearl Harbor to a crawl. Digital effect were very good in this film, but the fight scenes were to closeup. They should have been drawn back , so you can see all the action...
I have rarely bought a dvd in the last two years. Most aren't worth it,and how many times can you watch. Most that I view are from NetFlix. When I do get an HD player,NetFlix has them for rent at the same price. What player to get is another story. Way to soon to purchase one.
Does anyone know if this is on DVD here in the states? This was a great show that I watched on PBS years ago. I downloaded a few divx episodes from season 2. Very bad video. Would love to have the whole series on dvd. I'm sure it is available in England
Dts is really no great shakes over DD. In certain cases it might sound better, but that is very minimal. What about SDDS? Why hasn't that come to hometheater? Sony even uses DD on thier dvd's.
After reading an article in CR, I am concerned about bulb failure in a DLP or LCD tv. I saw a JVC ILA 56" set that had an outstanding HD picture. It was breath taking, but how long do these bulbs last? Can you do it yourself? What do they cost? The picture on this set, blew away the picture I...
A friend had a 50" Samsung plasma, and he had big problems.[not sure of the model] His set had alot of dead pixels,so he returned it. He got the same set replaced, and had the same problem. This was inside of a months time. He has now upgraded to a Panasonic 58", and he loves it. I wonder if...
