I'm very much looking forward to this... on dvd (mid to late November release, I believe). Haven't had cable for almost a year. Sundance Channel is one of three or so reasons I miss having it. I watched Tanner '88 back in, er, '88. Very excited about the sequel.
I'm pretty sure it's Teenage Crimewave, one of the early Mike-hosted episodes from the Comedy Central years: http://www.mst3kinfo.com/daddyo/di_522.html Pretty sure...
It looks like Home Vision Entertainment has a whole mess (well, three) of Losey's films coming - including Monsieur Klein, as Gordon pointed out. Perhaps the initial three titles are just one wave of several to come. Also, the latest Film Comment has a big Losey article - a pretty decent...
Oh, for crying out loud. I've been waiting for this one, but... Look, Columbia, don't bother putting the disc out if it's MARred, ok? Woody Allen + Zero Mostel + comedy/drama about the Blacklist does not equal WalMart, ok? License this film out to a company that understands the market for it...
I came across this link:http://www.reemst.com/calvin_and_hobbes/?page=books a few weeks ago. It has the breakdowns of which books contain what strips, including the dates. There seems to be one missing strip in the entire run, otherwise it looks like the series is collected in its entirety.
I'd love to see Miracle Mile and The Missionary (w/Michael Palin) re-released in their OAR and anamorphic. I have not and will not purchase the "full frame" editions currently available. Any extras would be extra nice, but OAR/anamorphic is pretty much make/break for me.
Mark, perhaps the episode you're thinking of is Soultaker, which was the premier episode from the tenth and last season. Joel and Frank did a special anniversary guest shot on that one. I was happy to see them one more time on MST3K. Dr. Forrester did not appear, however. One of my favorite...
I dunno... when I saw the end of Titanic, the first thing that came to mind was, "Wasn't this how The Shining ended?" It was an enjoyable "Mystery Science Theater" moment for me, at least.
Hokey Smoke! I have Storytelling Giant on vhs, too, but was always hoping for something with the (Nothing But) Flowers video to come out - I really like that one (song, too, of course). I haven't seen it since 1988, and even though I don't like videos as a rule, I really dig TH's videos. Surely...
I too have a Sunrise dvd question - sorry to hijack the (somewhat dormant) thread. I picked up Sunrise last night at a used dvd local - $10. I'm happy as can be, but I was wondering if anyone who got it through the mail can tell me if there was an insert in their copies. I have no...
As long as the entire series is released, and all the music from the original broadcasts is intact, I would consider this a very satisfactory release. Any extras - such as interviews, a small doc on Roslyn, WA, (where the series was shot), etc - would be icing. I just want the unexpurgated...
"While waiting for the big announcement, can any of you rabid MST3K fans tell me what film features this scene: a skinny teenage boy, dressed like Gilligan w/ the red shirt, sitting on a bed while one of the robots sings Sarah McLachlan ("And I will be the one, to hold you down...") For some...
I'm really looking forward to these releases, but I have to say the Looney Tunes extras (especially the ones on Robin Hood - Rabbit Hood and Robin Hood Daffy are both fantastic toons, Chuck Jones and Mike Maltese at their finest. Mr. Flynn even makes a cameo in Rabbit Hood) have me very excited...
I've mentioned this on another thread (even started it up w/ same concern) - Northern Exposure. I worry that a) the show will never see the (laser) light of day on dvd, or b) lots of replacement music will be used. In either of those cases, my vhs recordings from A&E's broadcasts will have...
I too read this semi-announcement on Adult Swim. I hope it's on the up-and-up. All the Williams Street shows on dvd would be amazingly cool releases. I can't get enough of Sealab, and I've been watching Space Ghost C2C for almost ten years now (wow!). An aside - I remember reading an...
I emailed MGM a few months ago concerning the fullscreen Miracle Mile release. I also mentioned The Missionary (w/ Michael Palin) as another release I wouldn't be picking up, though I'm a big fan of both films. No reply, though I suppose I didn't expect one. As I said in a Miracle Mile thread...
Speaking as a somewhat crazed MST fan, I'd love to see new-to-video releases. I would think a large number of films used in the Comedy Central episodes are in the public domain. I know other threads have had a pretty detailed list. Anyway, I was thinking if I was running Rhino (something I...
I'd love to see an Adult Swim line of dvds. All sixty-plus episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast*, Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Brak Show, and (oh please please, c'mon, pleeese?) Sealab 2021. "Because it's Bizarro!!" A line dedicated to the original programs (yeah...
Count me in as another very happy movie lover. I haven't seen this gem in about twenty years. I look forward to getting this wonderful film in all its widescreen glory (never seen it properly framed - can't wait). Thanks Paramount, CBS, and Mr. Blythe.
It's a dilemma, isn't it? If I refuse to buy it (which I do - the format and the vast majority of its customers should be mature enough for all films to be available in their OAR), MGM will assume I'm not a fan of the film and never think to revisit or reissue it. If I broke down and bought it...
I bumped up a previous thread concerning MGM releasing "full frame" only releases in the Studio/Manufacturer forum because of this and The Missionary (with Michael Palin) releases. I suppose it was only a matter of time before the more obscure films I'm primarily interesed in would suffer the...
I guess it's time for me to pipe in on this topic. I am disappointed to hear that The Missionary (with Michael Palin) and Miracle Mile (recently announced) are supposedly not going to be released in their OARs. These would have been two immediate purchases for me, and I'm sorry to say that...
