I received an XBox for Xmas and I have one question....Is it acceptable that my XBox locks up, at least once, each gaming session? I play Splinter Cell, Mech Assault and Madden. At least once a game it locks up and has to be turned off and back on in order to continue playing. Should I return it...
I second the vote for the 45A. I bought based on it's bang for the buck quotient. Picture looks good and the SACD and DVD-A is great. Big thumbs up. Also the wife liked the price a lot better than when I bought my DVPS7000 back in 96. DKP
Thanks guys! Now the wife's really hot thinking we were sold a misrepresented item. I feel bad for the sales guy that gets us this weekend :).

...and should I take it back? Seems like I have a good reason too. I do like the picture but I am concerned it will not perform as well on the digital set I intend on getting for Xmas. Darren K Price
I would like to know if this unit that I just purchased is actually progressive scan or not. According to Pioneer and Ultimate Electronics where I purchased the unit it is. However, I have read and seen that the unit is not. In fact, in the last issue of DVD.ETC. they state that the unit is not...
I personally have the previous generation KEF Reference and love them. Tried B&W...didn't love them. Simple as that. As for the new KEF Ref. line, I don't like the looks. They look too much like B&W as mentioned. But they still sound great! Buy what you like. Like what you buy. dkp
Nothing yet on the repair front. There is a Sony repair center close as noted above, but the wife wants me to hold off on the repair until later. I now have an HK AVR85 that needs repair sitting in a box (its been replaced by a Sony 444ES) and a Sony DVP S7000 (9000ES?) in a box next to it. I...
Anyone have any technical repair ideas regarding a Sony DVP S7000? We had just finished watching the Mummy Returns and I was putting in The Planet of the Apes. The tray loaded the disc, the front panel display was lit while the DVD player assessed what type of disc I loaded then the display...
I woud set them all to small and let the sub handle all of the low frequency work...if you have a decent powered sub. Therefore, using that logic, save your money and buy the mini monitors instead of the big floor standers.

I have a Pronto TS1000 which has been a very nice addition to my HT. My wife and I are very proficient with it but when company is over or staying with us, I break out a cheap five in one that does all of the basics. My biggest complaint about the Pronto is that it is very intimidating to...
Thanks for the info Keith. That is exactly what it sounds like. When it locks on, it makes an audible "click". Can that damage my system?
Yes I do feel as if I did quite well on the price. I actually went to get a Denon 2802 but was able to talk them down on this unit. I do feel good...
So even if I calibrated with a SPL that does not mean that they are calibrated? Guess I need to rent one of the calibration discs again.

When watching the DSS (RCA 5451)through the receiver using the optical input, there is an audible click through my speakers (all KEF Reference). When changing the channel it makes the click but if I do not let the receiver capture the optical input signal it doesnt pop. What would cause it to...
Ok, this explained how things work for home theater. Since I have my mains set to large and the center/surround set to small I should set my subs crossover as high as possible around 120Hz so that there are no holes in the system, correct? Now what about music playback in this configuration...
I am rearranging my rear channel configuration and I need to run the wire under the carpet to get to the rears now. Which manufacturer makes the thinnest/flattest wire that will withstand being under carpeting and the mat and not stand out when tacked/taped to the rear wall? I know Monster...
Ok gang, the old H/K AVR 85 gave up the ghost last week and I need to get a new receiver. I have done a little research to this point but I need some opinions from the HTF brain trust on which one to buy, the 510 or the 2802. If you have another suggetion that falls under $1000 let me know...
