I _despise_ bilingual covers. Please stop this practice. The best solution: Have both languages on the outside cover, but have only english on the inside cover. That way, the stupid retarded quebec law is not broken, and english people, like me, can just reverse their cover and have a nice...
The "menu from Jack Rabbit Slims" mentioned and pictured in Ron's review is not included in the alliance version. Also, the black and white picture of Tarentino and Uma Thurman is cut right down the middle by a half-inch white line (they didn't print on the inside of the spline).
Damn...I just got my hands on the alliance versions of PF and JB and this has got to be the worst packaging I've ever seen. The cardboard they used is borderline paper. It' so thin, it creases in my hand. The transparent plastic interior is very flimsy and the hub part that you press the...
I just watched this movie last night, without knowing of this thread, and I definitely have a distortion problem in the center channel on the 5.1 track only.
I have a Sony DVP-NS700P dvd player and a Denon AVR-1601 amp.
The distortion was immediately noticeable from the beginning of the...
Wow...thanks!
I already have ROTLD in my pre-order list :)
I always thought my memory of that scene was from a more obscure movie...well, now I'm looking forward to seeing ROTLD again.
Marc.
I watched it as a kid, and would like to get it on dvd if it's available.
It's a "living dead" type movie. A toxic cloud reanimates the dead in this movie and at one point, the hero hides out in a warehouse. There's a biology display case with half a dog or some other animal in it cut...
When I started watching Gosford Park, I wondered what was wrong with the contrast of my TV. Now I know why...the "popped" sunflower looks exactly how the transfer looked...too contrasty.
Maybe they should call it "Contrast-vision". :)

Don't DVDs have security devices inside? Does that mean people were opening the outer wrap, removing the security stickers, removing the security devices and shoplifting them?
I had the same problem when I met my wife, I am bilingual and she only spoke french. She had no idea what she was missing by listening to movies dubbed in french. So the first few months we knew each other, I watched dubbed movies and absolutely hated it. All the actor's performances and great...
The first two DVD's you should buy are Jurassic Park 3 in Pan & Scan and Jurassic Park 3 in Widescreen. That way you can see how crappy a Pan & Scan movie is and never buy one again.
Marc.
I hate it when studios put spoilers in the DVD's menu. If you want to make an animated menu, don't put the best parts of the film in there ruining major plot points!
Also, I would really like for EVERYTHING to be anamorphic on anamorphic dvd's....at the very least make the previews at the...
Maybe it's a mistake...what do they mean by "a first for any of our dvd collections"...to top it off, there's a widescreen picture right beside the news item!
I have a whole bunch of friends that bought the VHS version of Snow White for their young kids because they don't want them touching the DVD payer.
Add that to the fact that for a kid, it's easier to get a VHS going (insert and watch) than for a DVD.
So, I'm not surprised the Snow White VHS...
Are you guys sure it's open-matte? I tried zooming the picture on my 16:9 tv...the movie starts out looking nicely framed, but when the doorbell rings and people start entering the house, everyone's heads are chopped off...
