Why dont you get dish then you can get the West coast feeds and you will get UPN as part of the locals.

With Dish you may also be able to get CBS in HD if you qualify for locals.
You have to buy the HBO and SHowtime movie packages to get the HD feeds. THe HD demo feed is free.

Hi
I did add the 3rd receiver and I have the 501 and the 6000 receivers hooked up to the same TV via diff TV inputs so i can do PIP.
I have the third receiver on a diff TV.
I do pay the $5 fee though. One problem is that since I have a twin LNB on my dish 500 I can only connect two receivers...
I agree with Jay. I had a run around with the Dish Installer as well but ultimately, it was well worth the effort.
The installer cancelled/changed/ arrived late but once the dish is up you are set. I have had zero problems with the dish itself.
I would pick Dish again.
Remember the tradeoff...

Do you know if the new switch will still require a dish 500 w/ dual LNBs or will it also work with twin LNB.
I have a dish 500 twin + dual LNB on dish 300 and 3 receivers. Right now two receivers get the dish 500 output and 1 gets the dish 300.
I don't want to buy the dual LNB for $200...
Thanks for the helpful comments. I bought a RS bowtie and get all the channels now. but need to move the antenna around to get different channels. For some reason Fox and CBS require a diff position even though they are coming from the same location (WTC)
I am debating wether to spend another...
I think that everyone who owns an HDTV ready device should start emailing/calling their mfgs and anyone who is planning to buy such a device should call up the mfg and ask them.
I think the mfg will care more about losing current sales due to this issue.

I have the dish 6000 + 8VSB and am receiving local channels from New York. The prog guide just says local prog and does not give any prog information.
Is there a way to get a prog guide for the local channels. i was under the impression that the local DTV channels transmit their prog...
I was an existing dish customer so I was not eligible for the new sub rebates. I got my dish 6000 + dish 500 + dish 300 for $339 from Sears. I got them to price match an internet price. No 12 month contract requirement thru Sears.
If you are a new sub check out

In normal mode on the dish 6000 receiver it was widescreen. I could make it 4*3 by trying different modes.

Hi
I watched Jay Lenno on the DTV feed from NYC with the double bow tie.
Even though it looked better than it did on dishnet and cable, it did not look as good as the HDTV feed I saw at the Harveys electronics store.
How can I be certain that it is actually HDTV and not just DTV? The...

How can you tell if a show is being transmitted in DD 5.1? Is there some light that comes on? I have the Dish PVR501 connected to a Marantz receiver via Optical digital cable.

Hi
I currently have dish connected to Video 1 using S-video and cable via VCR to UHF/VHF input into the TV.
I would like to connect the cable to the dish receiver as well and pass them together to the TV via Video 1.
The back of my dish receiver has cable and UHF/VHF inputs. I tried plugging...
I have a sony 53hs10 and have both analog cable and dishnet. I find that dishnet is very clear, almost DVD quality except for a few channels running old shows such as TVland. Even cable looks better than it did on my old 27 inch sony.
I think the signal clarity varies by area for both cable and...
I am interested in recording on the VCR using the dish receiver. How do I connect the VCR to the receiver?
I saw that there is a cable input and an antenna input on the back of the receiver. Where does the VCR go?
Currently my cable goes to the VCR to the TV's UHF/VHF input and I am able to...
