About 6 miles south of Lake Wales. Not far from Hwy 60. No... Not the MKIII's since it was an experiment I was working within a pretty tight budget. The drivers are their #295-455 I figured that if I liked it I could always put better drivers in (Tempests or even MKIII's) but in the end I...
I have an IB and I'm a little over an hour and a half from Vero. Its an atic mounted pair of Dayton 15" driven by a PE 250w plate amp. If you feel like taking a drive to the middle of the state I'd be happy to give you a listen. Be warned... I'm still in the process of dialing in my BFD...
Hunt down a pair of Infinity SM152s. They show up fairy often on eBay for very reasonable prices, usually $250 to $400 a pair depending on condition. I've also seen them in pawn shops but the asking price has always been WAY out of line. One reviewer at audioreview call them "the ultimate...
Grant, At this time I have a sale "pending" on the RCA I/R remote extenders. If it should fall through you'll be next in line. In answer to your question... I don't know. My house isn't very big so they worked fine for me at a distance of 40' or so. The instructions say: Remote control...
Jay, The 3025 replaced the 3026. I've had the 3026 a bit under 2 years. I wouldn't call it an "old" model but is has been discontinued. Honestly I don't really know what the difference is. From what I've been able to determine the channel numbers that are available for output is the main...
For some reason the email link isn't working. I sent a test message to myself using the link but never received it. I'll post an inquiry on the HTF "Help" area to try and figure out what's happening (or NOT happening). I suspect that is has something to do with me changing my email...
Niles SPS-4, 4 position speaker switch. This will switch 4 pairs of speakers and has impedance protection so you won’t overload your amp. Includes box, instructions and labels (4 are on the switch already). I bought new from Crutchfield for $100.00, selling for $50.00 shipped. PayPal preferred...
I need a tube phono preamp that will be switchable between moving magnet or moving coil AND a headphone amp all in a single chassis. Remote controld of the headphone level would be nice too. Outboard power supply is pretty much a must Oh... It also has to look nice and fit in a ~6" high...
With the center being above the TV the magnets are far enough away from the CRTs to not cause any distortion. Had I tried to place the center below the TV it would have been another story.
Joseph, I guess I should have read your WHOLE post... Why do you thing the HE8.1 would crossover better than the HE10.1? I'm still playing the 8.1 to break it in so I'm not yet ready to write a "review", even if I could. Even once broken in I'm still not sure that I'll be able to say...
Joseph, OK... You asked for it... I really like my JBLs. For the $$$ I don't believe that there's another speaker even close. In fact they're still in use in another room. That said... They're simply no match for the 10.1s. Dynamics are just great. The 10.1s are capable of very high...
That was a S-Center. So far the 8.1 smokes it in terms of "clearity". I always liked the S-Center but there IS a definate difference. The 8.1 is a bit more efficient than the S-Center. I'm at a total loss to understand why a 2-way system can be better than a 3-way but it is. At least to my...
It’s DONE!!! I’ve built myself a “custom” center to match my entertainment center. The speaker and crossover is an Adire Audio HE 8.1 kit. The cabinet where the speaker is mounted is resized slightly to reduce the height but overall within 1 cubic inch of Adire’s plans. Here’s the before...
The material I was refering to was the HD "birch" plywood. It most definately is NOT baltic birch. I haven't done a "ply" count but I've worked with true baltic birch and this stuff ain't it. Granted it's a WORLD better than the B-C Exterior grade stuff but under the birch is still good old...
For an IB there's not even any reason to use "birch" plywood. The birch layer is nothing more than a veneer and there for looks only. Since an IB is usually in an attic or basement and not really "visable" why not use a decent grade of plain old plywood?
We're pretty heavily X10'd here. All of the bedroom lighting, coffee maker, almost all of the living room lighting, a couple of outdoor lights, the christmas lighting, etc. etc. etc. For a simple "single pole" incandescant the $13.00 switch is fine. X10 stuff gets a lot more complicated when...
How about a Pioneer VSX-D411 for $100.00 shipped? Payment by PayPal (preferred) or money order. It has 5.1 channel, 2 digital inputs (1 optical & 1 coaxial), DTS, PL2 etc. Very good condition, original box, packing, paperwork & remote. I bought it intending to set up a bedroom system...
Add me to the list of folks who can strongly recommend the Dayton IB subs. I have a pair of 15" drivers in a manifold in the attic. They are being driven by a PE 250W plate amp. I figure I've got a bit under $500.00 invested in the whole thing including the BFD. The room is 15' X 30' with...
