I had to go get "Embrace of the Vampire" when I heard that I could finally see Alyssa Milano in most of her glory.:D Trace I haven't been able to get drunk enough yet to see Kathy Bates in "About Schmidt" though.
I agree, I've been in retail for nearly 30 years and I'm amazed at how unwilling customers are to stand up for themselves and demand good service. They are almost afraid or apologetic. They are also amazed when I tell them that I can take care of any problem they have, "It's your money, you...
God, I remember that movie. I couldn't shower without keeping my eyes open for weeks after!! Coincidentally, I had been to a circus side-show that summer and saw a guy with Elephant Man's disease, then when I saw the movie..there he was, as one of the demons swarming into the room....freaked...
I bought a small (4-6") clip-on fan and hooked it to the rack so that it blows right over the amp. You can barely hear it (you don't hear it at all with the movie on) and it was under $10.00. Trace
You could also store it away. These are the knids of things that become very valuable in years to come. Imagine having an original piece of lobby art from "Casablanca" or "Star Wars". Granted these were bigger movies, but the day will come when a demand for "ancient" Jim Carrey stuff may be in...
I found a product at my local Fred Meyer store made by GE. You plug the unit into the wall and then the rope light (or any other light source) into it. It comes with a small RF remote that lets you turn it on & off. Less than 20 dollars and a very simple solution. I keep the remote velcro'd to...

I was working in a grocery store the night this movie first aired. We might as well have been closed. I've been waiting 21 years to see this movie and I finally got too. I think it would have had more impact on me in '83 than it did last night but, it was still worth waiting for. What I found...
Paul, Thanks for the heads up. I have been a CH member for a long time but haven't made any purchases lately because they can't beat Best Buy. The BB web-site listed the collection at 69.99! Thanks very much. :-) Trace
My Pioneer VSX-D812 went into DTS ES Matrix. No problem. I agree with Sean, ...amazing use of sound. To have the above deck noise sound as if it was actually coming from my ceiling was just incredible. The best use of DTS I've ever heard. Trace
I like to use both the DD & DTS openings of T2 Ultimate Edition to demonstrate the difference between the formats. Most people are stunned by the DTS demo. Trace
Mike, Don't discount bass shakers completely. I've noticed that the stores generally set them at too high of a setting. Mine offer a great impact because I have them set to only react to the lowest bass tones. Trace
I'm holding it right now. The VHS has been OOP for years and has been getting top dollar on EBay. I got it for $9.99 at BB. Yes, I'm very stoked. Trace
Paul, I noticed that you haven't gotten any help yet. I live in Tacoma and although I don't know any one in particular, I might suggest that you check into the people responsible for the "Street of Dreams" projects. Just a thought. Trace
Go to GameStop, Best Buy or Circuit City and you can buy an A/V switcher designed for multi-games. It has RCA and S-video connectors, and each of the 5 switches is labeled XBox, PS2, etc......... Trace
Mike has the right idea. As for your connections, I had the same concern. I just triple-checked all the wiring and the connectors before closing it all up. If your platform is movable, you could always tip it over if you had to. Trace
along the same idea of the signaller. Rather than get startled by a ringing telephone im my theater room. I hooked up a Caller ID box. When the phone rings upstairs the caller light flashes. Much easier to ignore.:D Trace
I suggest putting low profile rollers on the bottom of the platform. Is the floor carpeted? As for the bass shakers, I mounted mine underneath the platform and then wired them to a Radio Shack multi speaker connector plate and then mounted the plate into a cutout on the platform. The speaker...
Jay, I designed and built my own bar using kitchen cabinet kits from Home Depot. Although mine is a dry bar you can easily build a wet one. It's set up as a walk behind L-formation bar with a double decker surface. The base cabinets allow for good depth to store backup supplies and install a...
Darren, I wonder if insurance would cover the treatment!? "My theater was built by Blue Cross" Neil, I don't have access to a camera, so no pix will be available, sorry. It's a kind of mix-n-match set-up Toshiba TW56D90 WS RPTV Pioneer LD player Toshiba SD-3109 dual-disc DVD...
.........to HTF and all of its members. I finally finished my theater!!:D (Sorry, no pics. No digital camera) I've checked into this forum everyday for months and culled many ideas and solutions from here and would never have been able to do it without you guys.:emoji_thumbsup: Now I have...
It's a good thing that their are rules of conduct on this forum or I could really go off on the whole subject. I prefer MAF,.....My Approval Factor!!! :D Trace
