For what it's worth, I've been rewatching with someone who doesn't like depictions of graphic violence, and she enjoys the show, but there's a very early moment that she didn't like and there are also crime scene photographs that she typically looks away during. Overall though, I agree with the...
I loved "The Return" and enjoyed the previous book but having just finished "The Final Dossier", I am hugely disappointed by it. It's about 140 pages though a large portion of that is black or pictures of a cover of a folder. Probably only about 100 pages of actual content. I of course didn't...
And not only was it explained in-show, but also they had that special feature with Hurley and Walt that basically had them turn directly to the camera and speak right into it saying 'hey, this is where the polar bears came from!' :D
Someone actually tried cleaning up the audio from the whisper (and repeated it a bunch of times): https://soundcloud.com/steven-guy-10/lauras-whispered-message-to-dale-cooper
One of the things really sticking with me today is how appropriate Eddie Vedder's imaginary Roadhouse song in episode 16 was for what the ending turned out to be. Not going to quote the whole thing, but definitely fits what happened in episode 18.
I mean, of course that could apply to life in...
One of the interesting things that I saw going around Reddit and Twitter (who knows if that's the intent or not) is that the Chinese phrase / pseudo-homonym for Judy (especially in that ridiculous Philip Jeffries accent) "jiāo dài" means "to explain".
Apparently the audio was the old version though so you're both right... and based on this album linked in Reddit, Julee Cruise turned out to not be so happy about her minimized part:

(For what it's worth, I thought it was the perfect end to episode 17, but...
Another random thought, I loved that it was Lucy who got the first shot off. I'm not sure if "very important" was a code from Andy based on his Lodge visit or if she figured it out on her own, but that was awesome.
I'm not entirely sure that was supposed to be purely 'good' Cooper in 18. The dead-eyed unnerving stare in the sex scene while Diane covered his face... the complete overreaction in shooting the thugs at the diner.. it felt like a mix of good and bad Cooper, like they had merged, or were always...
Very glad that Showtime posts the 'on-demand' episodes at the same time as the airing, because the live stream was just driving me absolutely crazy in the way it was shifting back and forth on my end between a slight green hue and a slight red hue, distractingly so. Thankfully, not a problem...
As Showtime plays it during their marathon, it strikes me as interesting that the girl who (along with her mom) last saw Billy is first accused of getting high in the nuthouse. Potentially another hint about Audrey? Guess we'll find out soon.
I rewatched FWWM and The Missing Pieces yesterday, and put on The Return in the background for the first 4 episodes last night and have been doing the same with the rest of them today... but I have to confess to skipping through a bit of part 8. It's visually stunning of course, and definitely...
I had a feeling that was the case (though I admit to not looking at the Amazon reviews). I figured not quite as... convoluted as the Danielewski books I needed to get physical copies of, but probably not too far off.
Apparently Mark Frost has a second book coming out October 31 too: Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier.
From Amazon:
Also, to anyone who read the first one... is there anything that would be missed by reading an ebook version over the hard copy?
"Finally" had me cracking up. And pretty much every moment after that had me:
Maybe a slight moment of concern for Gordon and Albert for a second, but as soon as he realized Diane was outside the door before she even knocked, I felt confident that they'd read the signs immediately.
Hmm, having read a bunch of reviews now, it's curious to me that there seems to be a bit of confusion over the numbers shown to Bad Coop for Judy, when they were pretty clearly (to me at least) the same coordinates from the arm that Diane was memorizing. People keep asking about 480551 but I...
Yeah, and we saw Shelly telling Becky to come down to the Double R and have some pie... but to my memory at least we haven't seen Becky since that phone call. I was thinking that Mark Frost's character was going to stumble onto Becky's dead body, not Steven and Gersten.
Also, the more I watch...
The AVclub review just reminded me... it was strange how in the Roadhouse booth, the friend was just out of the blue "what's your mom's name again?" I know that functionally it served the purpose to tell us that it was Tina's daughter, but it felt weird the way they fit it (or didn't fit it...
A lot to take in this episode... but most of all, who would have guessed that Andy of all people would end up having such an important part in saving the world? Seriously I'd feel a lot more confident in their odds with literally anyone else who was on the scene. :D
I can't remember if it was here or some of the recap sites I read (Sepinwall maybe?) where someone suggested that maybe Lynch is basically just editing scenes together because he likes how they go together when next to each other. Who knows for sure, but either way I still tend to agree with...
True, but what we do find out about Billy and his truck and all that seems to have too much connection to the events we've observed. But yeah, something weird is going on there for sure.
Anyone able to read lips and tell what Dougie mouthed to Janey-E's "I love you" while watching their son?
That whole scene definitely felt creepy with the spotlight going back and forth, I half expected the Giant to show up with a warning the whole time.
Looks like pretty much none of the...
I kind of had assumed they were saving the appearance of Audrey for some big reveal. The way that her scene played out doesn't seem to be worth holding back for. It seems like that could have shown up in any number of other episodes without much consequence.
Overall though, I'm enjoying the...
For some reason (probably because like so many of the new faces, we've gotten so few scenes with him), it didn't connect with me that the guy Shelly ran out to see was the same one who terrified Richard Horne (until reading recaps today).
Also, I think one of my favorite parts of this episode...
I really hope they've turned a corner, because I thought this was by far the strongest episode of the revival... and weirdly it was also the one that followed each thread for more than just a tiny vignette. Odd how that works. ;)
Anyone else notice the blinking of the windows on the plane to...
