The JVC does not do HDTV. In would not expect it from a product with a MSRP $150.

Did you guys read the links? The JVC has Three component imputs and one component output. It also has two composite/S-video inputs and one composite/S-video output. Each has stereo audio inputs/outputs. Read the links for more info.

www.gamespot.com has reviews up of the PS2 and Xbox versions. The Xbox version did much better than the PS2. If I remember right the xbox version received a 9.2 and the PS2 received 8.0.
The other thing to consider is that most people in this forum run their sub(s) 6 to 12 dB hot. I just to run my sub 6db over when I first got in HT. Over time I got tired of the bass heavy sound, and back down my sub at the same level as my mains.
Aaron, how loud can you play these speakers? I usually never listen to levels past 95 dB. I also plan to use a pair of 2wQ to augment the bass capability of the speaker. This should help the speakers play louder.

I calibrate my system using the Ultimate DVD Platinum. It has DD and DTS test tones. I compared the levels to the optimode test tones on the DVD and they were right. I had to make no adjustments.
