Anchor Bay Entertainment is very good at 16x9 enhancing their 1.66:1 DVD's, two examples are: 'Pusher' and 'Bad Taste'. By the way, buy PUSHER, it's a great film!
I bought this unseen and have now watched all 10 episodes. I thought it would be very good. I'm not dissapointed, it was even better than I had hoped. Picture quality is great, the photograhpy is similar to SPR but a little more varied. The battle scenes have the same look, but other things...
From DVDFile: And in Star Trek news, Paramount will not be discontinuing the current DVD of edition of The Wrath of Khan - the only way to get the original theatrical version of the film - to make way for the upcoming two-disc special edition, which includes a new extended cut of the film...
Had Hitchcock made this, it would have been a compleatly diffrent movie. It would have been a mystery thriller about the murder. Sure, had someone like Hitchcock directed it. It would probably have been very good, but still a standard thriller.
But that's not what Blow-Up is about at all, it's...
Has it actually been confirmed if it was season five or six that was the first to be shot in 16x9? There seams to be alot of rumors about this, it would be nice to hear from the people that really knows. If someone remembers, they actually showed one episode letterboxed ones. It was the third...
JohnJB,
You're right, I should have said "except Von Sydow". He ofcourse is a great actor (and a fellow swede) ;-) But everyone else speaking english does make the performances become alot worse. So in this case I think it is worth sacrificing Max Von Sydow's original voice for the greater...

Here's a review of the Italian R2 DVD:
Picture Quality:
It is in PAL. 16:9 enhanced 1.85:1, actually 1.77:1. Picture quality is very good. Even though Argento has gone back to making a giallo, the cinematography, the look of the movie is very diffrent from his 70's...

The long version is supposed to be about 20 min longer. So it's more that just more gore. There are probably serveral whole scenes not in the normal version.
I don't think the longer version of "Wild" have ever been released. I read about the longer version in an interview with Don May Jr. of Synapse Film, or it might have been in a message he posted on some forum. I think I'm going to try and find it now. Anyway, when he was at Elite they were going...
The longer version I talked about was of Wild At Heart. Which supposedly was alot more violent and had to be cut down some to get an R rating.
The new DVD of Blue Velvet that is comming will have the new 5.1 remix. Also it is rumored to have some extras. Probably deleted scenes and some interviews.
Just checked www.dugpa.com
