As far as the quirk is concerned. Sometimes when you start up the unit with several discs in it, the carousel spins funny and some discs are actually knocked out of their spots. I am not sure if there is a firmware fix or a mod that can be done to the disc spots to prevent them from getting...
I bought two of these and never used the second one. It's handy to have because it plays so many formats and can be made region free, converts PAL to NTSC and vice versa, has a Faroudja chip and outputs 1080P over HDMI. DVD-Audio/Video and SACD. Comes with original box, owners manual and remote...
Selling my Panasonic 60ST30 - 60" 1080p 3D plasma TV with 4 pairs of Sony PS3 3D glasses (Sony 3D glasses work excellent). It's two years old. Works great. It can be viewed in action with cable, dvd and blurays and its very impressive. I upgraded to a 65" panasonic plasma. Comes with power cord...
They are "mid" woofers. They aren't bass subwoofers. The two woofers on the C60 operate up to 2500 Hz. They are midrange drivers. They cross over to the tweeter at 2500 Hz. If you remove the tweeter from between them, the phase change between the crossover freq between the tweeter and the one...
The two woofers are relevant. That is the whole issue I am trying to avoid. Right now I have my C60 vertical and it is carefully angled so that the tweeter is aimed right at the seated listeners ears, therefore, the seated listener is effectively sitting "on centre" to the centre channel no...
This wouldn't work on its own. Remember, the two woofers in this centre channel are playing EVERYTHING from 2500 Hz down to the speakers lowest (40-50 Hz). Moving the tweeter from between the two midrange woofers would mess up the sound. What I had thought of doing, was simply swapping the...
I suppose that could work, but, is that any better than going phantom centre? (no centre channel select "none" for centre in receiver?). I get that the two centre speakers are so far apart that they shouldn't cause any lobbing issues, and in fact, its almost like you are going with a phantom...
For context, realize I have second gen PSB image speakers such as the T65 front towers. The PSB T55 is approximately 36" and I could use that, but its a bit high. I would prefer the centre channel be approximately no more than 28" high, or about the vertical height (horizontal width) of my C60...
I just wanted to add that I don't like how high my Plasma TV stand puts the TV above the surface the TV stand sits on, so I am thinking of using a full motion wall mount, or doing something else. Either way, I want to have a vertical centre channel. I don't mind using the C60 vertically, but I...
Cool. I looked at the link. Do you have pictures of the centre channel you made?
I have PSB T65 front towers and a C60 centre. I am using the C60 vertically, but I basically want to use a T55 as a centre speaker, but that is too tall. What I really want to do is make a C55 by putting the baffle...
How do you like the two-way bookshelf as a centre channel? Do you find it has enough oomph? I am trying to go about making a short tower (tweeter up top and mid-woofer below and a woofer below that) for my purposes and its a challenge. I may give up and just use a bookshelf.
Thanks. This picture is kind of the idea I have in mind. I want to keep the centre channel a little higher than that, a little bit closer to the TV. I too want to have a projector screen coming down in front of the TV.
I am working on a custom AV stand plasma stand with a vertical centre channel speaker in mind.
Just wondering if there is anybody who is using a vertical centre channel speaker with their Plasma TV home theatre setup. Do you have any pictures?
Yeah, my situation is different. I will hopefully get something going and post pictures. I have a wall mount but I won't be staying in this townhouse for a very long time, so, I am going to build an un-usual stand.
I am looking at building a custom av stand to fit a vertical centre channel. I am going to use an articulated wall mount for the TV to mount to the back of the av stand. Has anybody every made something like this? Go any pictures? Any advice?
I think I will sit on mine and wait for the Bond 50 to be available for cheaper. Emailed a seller in Ontario and waiting for a reply. Once I buy the Bond 50 I can sell my individual BluRays (except NSNA).
I am wondering what I should do at this point. I own the following Bond on BD in bold[/B and the remaining in asterisk I don't have]: 1. Dr. No 2. From Russia with Love 3. Goldfinger 4. Thunderball 5. You Only Live Twice 6. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 7. Diamonds Are Forever 8. Live and Let...
I would recommend the ST30. It has a better anti-reflective screen and quite a bit better black levels among other things, not to mention the 3D capability. It's more expensive, but the value is high.
Looking for $3900.00. I bought a JVC RS40 but I have not picked it up yet because I have put my house up for sale. It is sitting brand new at the dealer. I sold my house and I am moving. I was going to set up the RS40 in my new place, but my financial situation is not great right now. I may pick...
Interesting. Well, I have heard that the new generation of JVC's are sharper. I hope the RS40 is sharp enough. I think there is some variability in convergence sharpness etc. I couldn't afford the RS50 if it was sharper, let alone the RS60. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback.
Do you have one yet? I have an RS40 coming, but I've been following the reports on AVS. There are some issues being reported about HDMI communications, lockups and lower than expected brightness. Lot's of good reports too. I guess I'll see mine when it gets here.
