I'm hoping it is the Toho Godzilla set for spine #1,000. And here's my thinking as to why it will be #1,000.
Spine #999 will be released on October 29th, 2019. If Criterion follows a schedule, then spine # 1,000 should come out November 5th, 2019. The 65th anniversary of the Original Godzilla...
Been awhile since I've posted. Haven't watched many movies in the past few months.
So I sat down with a film I haven't watched since it's 1975 theatrical run.
Decided to break out one from the DVD collection. Sadly I haven't watched enough of my dvd's since going HD in 2008.
Transfer didn't look to bad. Would definitely upgrade to Blu-ray if it was released.

Finally got a chance to finally watch Super 8. Great film, but being it's a J.J.Abrams film, lenses flare is annoying. Outside of that I have to say the freight train crash is probably one of the most intense scenes I've heard in 5.1 since the Jurassic Park T-Rex scene.
Finally got to see Shin Godzilla. Hong Kong release. Excellent PQ. Sound is only 3.1 DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD 3.1 w/English subtitles, but still packs a punch at times.
Blu-ray looked pretty damn good upconverted on the 4K system. Wonder what it would look like on UHD with a 4K scan from the 70MM OCN. Just wondering. :):):):)
