I just bought the bonus disc at Best Buy, but nothing special printed out for me either. Does anyone know how this will be applied to Wind Waker when it's released in March? Will I just need my receipt?
The only reason I'm looking for both of them new is that they've only been out a couple years. I have had success with used older systems like the Super Nintendo. So maybe I will buy them used. Thanks for the ideas guys.
I was wondering if someone could recommend a website or store that I could buy both systems brand new at besides ebay? I'm asking this because both systems are not that old, and each one has some games I'm interested in.
I'd say Josef von Sternberg's lost Paramount films The Case of Lena Smith and The Dragnet could qualify, just by the standards of his films that do survive. Also he directed a film for Charles Chaplin that was never released.
I love both cuts of the Lynch's version that are available, and hope we will see a defintive version someday (though of course we won't). Also I can't get enough of Brian Eno's Prophecy Theme.
Can anyone confirm that Blatty was forced to change the ending to include an exorcism? Overall I enjoyed this film very much. Its to bad Blatty has only directed two films.
Caught Brewster McCloud the last time TCM showed it, and fought it was great. The Altman film I needed to tape last night was Buffalo Bill with Paul Newman.
I hope Warner will do something special (like a 2 disc set) for Orson Welles' The Magnificent Ambersons. There is an endless amount of things they could do with this release. Sadly this film isn't as well known as Kane so it will probably be a while.
Got to see Bowie live at the Tweeter Center in Camden last night. It was great to see the crowd really get into the show and help fuel his performance. Everyone was having a great time.
I've really got into Bowie of late and the new 30th Anniversary Ziggy CD is one of many I just bought. I was wondering if anyone has more information on the changes done to it, and if they're considered significant enough to ruin the music. Also if there is a recall how would we find out? I'd...
Maybe an uncut print of Total Recall could not be found for the DVD release or Verhoeven didn't want the extra gore added. I'm assuming this because Artisan has released unrated movies in the past.
I've seen about 24 films from his list. Its to bad a group of people as knowledgable and caring for film as he is didn't make the AFI list. How the AFI could leave off the work of von Stroheim, Keaton, von Sternberg and others I'll never understand.
I love this film too. When I saw a commercial for this film I knew it was going to be something special. I searched a couple stores for this CD, but had to settle with ebay. I believe the domestic release is out of print in the U.S.
Didn't De Laurentiis's company go bankrupt soon after making Dune? I don't know if this was because of Dune or not. I agree that Cimino's career suffered much more for his box office bomb. Lynch actually got Blue Velvet out of his.
I see a lot of similarities between what happened to Cimino's Heaven's Gate, and David Lynch's Dune. Both were critical and commercial failures when they were released. I personally think Dune should have faired better then it did.
My favorite euro horror film is probably Argento's Deep Red. I also like anything else by Argento and Bava.
By the way does anyone know why Soavi hasn't made a feature film since Dellamorte Dellamore? The imdb lists two TV movies, but no new features.
My hope is that when Warner gets around to releasing The Magnificent Ambersons on DVD that they consider reconstructing the film. Similar to the A Star is Born and Lost Horizon reconstructions with stills of lost scenes inserted back into the film. I know this is more difficult with Ambersons...
