In all seriousness, an excellent episode. Hugh's simple "well" in response to Carm's dismay about her connection with Tony tells the tale. In a way she's just as responsible for Tony's behavior as he is -- she stood by all those years and let it continue. And her lover wasn't too far off the...

I'm bumping this one back to the top in hopes that it'll generate more discussion... Come on, there's gotta be more than two other people out there who have something to say about this album!
I'd love to hear other's opinions of Brainwashed... Listening to this album (and listening to it again and again) has been one of the most enjoyable musical experiences I've ever had. George certainly still "had it." It's a shame he was taken from us before he could share more of this...
Sam, I also noticed the "skipping" (at least in the 2002 cut -- haven't watched the '82 cut yet). I seem to remember it happening again in another scene as well... I think it was when the phone rang and Elliot got scared. There was a pan in on the phone that jumped a couple times. I thought...
I have to agree... poor Artie. This episode's focus on suicide was interesting. A few have mentioned on this forum that Adriana might commit suicide to get out of her fix with the Feds. After watching this episode, I think that'll probably be the way it happens. This was the groundwork for...
The episode was great overall, but I do have a couple gripes...
1) Where was Paulie? He's getting far too little screen time this season. Something is brewing there, so let's get on with it.
2) Episode 4 was the best of the season thus far. With a few loose ends still hanging, some mention...
Two come to my mind right away...
The Who - Live at Leeds -- The new 2001 "Deluxe Edition" expands the 1995-6 remaster with the complete performance of Tommy on disc 2. Both halves of the concert are blistering; after all it's The Who!
George Harrison & Friends - The Concert for Bangladesh...
In no particular order...
1. Abbey Road -- The Beatles
2. Exile On Main Street -- The Rolling Stones
3. Tumbleweed Connection -- Elton John
4. Ride the Lightning -- Metallica
5. All Things Must Pass (30th Anniv.) -- George Harrison
6. Music From Big Pink -- The Band
7. Plastic Ono...
Oliver Stone -- almost all of his films have received great treatment on DVD. Granted, some of the titles are direct ports from Laser, but at least he does enjoy sitting down to talk about his films.
Is The Godfather III in the DVD set the director's cut (which has been the standard on previous home video editions)? I know all of the other cut footage can be found on the extra disc in the set, but how is GF III presented? More specifically, what is the running time of GF III? Thanks in advance.
View the film all the way through (or play the film and skip to the last chapter). After that, return to the special features menu and click on the new option to access the hidden menu. I believe it's labled as "Pizza Guy."
There are also some outtakes hidden in the color bars.
Max,
Have you tried the disc out, or are you going by what is listed on the package? As you can see by my review and previous posts, I made the mistake of saying it was anamorphic (going by what was on the package) when in fact it's not. After I double checked I updated my review accordingly...
After reading the thread and the "Anamorphic!" comment, I went back and double checked the disc. When I write reviews, I usually switch to 16:9 mode just to make sure that the disc is in fact anamorphic. I remembered that for some reason I hadn't done that with this disc. The packaging lists...
Jon linked to my review at DVD Angle above. The disc is outstanding. I wasn't expecting all of the great extras, and the audio and video quality is excellent. They may to seem top-notch on the surface, but when you take a look at the resotration comparison on the disc you'll be very pleased with...
A Better Place (written & directed by View Askew's Vincent Pereira) was finally released on DVD a couple weeks ago...
To those who own the disc already: How is the quality (both the audio video & the extras)? Also, where did you purchase it? Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash is always an option...
John, your guess is as good as mine. The fifth episode is listed on the back of the box in very small print. I can't figure out why they called it an extra in the first place. At least it's there though, that's the way I look at it.
