So I've recently moved and my dedicated theater room is small so I've been looking for something to mount on the walls as opposed to having my e30's and e35 out on the floor. I was thinking of just buying three more E10's. Will these new Venue series on walls give me better performance than a...
I guess I spoke too soon. While mine powers up, as soon as any kind of load is put on it, it powers off again. Even with nothing plugged in. No inputs, no speakers, nothing. If I put in on tuner with the volume all the way down things are good but once I get the volume up beyond -35 or so, the...
Well, I just had this issue happen to me after a brief power outage. Thank you SO much to Doug for posting the reset code. I'm back up and running. I love the internet!
I have a similar setup with a vsx1014, E30's for mains, EC35 and E10's for surrounds. Using an SVS sub. Sounds really nice and didn't break the bank. I'm planning at some point to move the mains to the surrounds. Use the surrounds for rears and add either E90's or E100's into the main position...
Onecall has gone up $20 on the E30's since last week as well. Last week when I was shopping these speakers the E30's were 138.95 plus shipping, now they're $158 plus shipping. At $138 they weren't too bad since that low price somewhat offset the $35 shipping charge. I ended up buying from...
Got mine in last night. They look quite nice in the cherry finish although they seem a lot bigger in my little room than they did in the BB. I could see the look in my girlfriends eyes as I was unboxing them like "oh no they're too big and cluttering things up!!!" Sigh. Anyway. I've not had a...
I think that advice makes good sense and I seriously considered that path. In fact my finger was hovering over the "place order" button with 4 E30's in the cart. My thinking ended up going something like this. I figured I'd save $150 by going with the E10's for now. They were 60 bucks cheaper...
Oh without question they'll sound different! Nothing sounds like my Heresy's. I've had those speakers for 15 years so I'm actually looking forward to having something a bit different. The JBL's are going to mainly be for Home theater stuff anyway. I don't listen to much music these days but I...
Hopefully I'll avoid such issues. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience though. I already have an SVS 20-39cs sub (I got to keep that part of my old HT after getting divorced) and so I'm hoping these bookshelves from JBL will match up pretty good with it. My old HT had Klipsch Heresy II's...
Ha! I've just ordered the identical setup (e30,ec35,e10) after reading here and givng them a listen at Best buy and CompUSA. I hope they sound as good in my quiet, controlled environment as they did in the dreadful retail setups that I listened to.
How about this? www.niro1.com I've read a couple of reviews and both have been very positive. Not heard one myself though. I'm tempted since I'm not feeling the love with running wires all over the apartment.
Everything I've read about the TW100 has been positive. I'm planning on demo'ing one here in the next few weeks. Check out the AVS forum for threads on this unit as well as projectorcentral.com for a review. With street prices in the 3800 to 4000 dollar range, it sounds like a nice unit. As I...
Order 3032....driver upgrade shipped and scheduled for delivery 5/1.
How great is SV for making upgrades available to existing products/customers. I love these guys!
I think I've watched Predator more than any other movie. My wife and I watched it the other night and as the credits were rolling up the screen, I looked at her and said "You know, I could watch this again right now!"
I love that movie.
Link Removed
I hadn't seen this link posted yet. Interview with PJ giving away some minor spoilers about TTT and ROTK. Forgive me if it's been posted already.
My two favorite scenes in this movie (I loved it btw), both involve McKellen.
1. When Frodo offers the ring to Gandalf in bag-end. The look of stark terror on Gandalf's face was totally convincing and made the hair stand up on my neck.
2. During the Council when Gandalf finally hears...
I guess I'll weigh in, here.
My listening room is fully Klipsch-i-fied with Heresy II's at all four corners and an RC-3 in the center. Mated with a single SVS 20-39cs, and running through my Denon 2801, I can say that I enjoy audio happiness with both HT and music.
I think the issue with...
I'm using an Acurus (Mondial) 100x3 to power my Heresy II's with a Denon 2801 as a pre-amp. Significant improvement over the 2801 alone and the Acurus has a great musicality to it.
Cheap too. Picked mine up on Ebay for $300. They are quite a bargain for the quality you get.
Does the software come with detailed docs on how to interpret all of the data that it produces?
Is there a site somewhere, maybe, that describes which tests to run and how to read and interpret the data and most importantly, how to fix things that need to be fixed?
I may be a bit dense but...
You would probably get some improvement but I can't say how much. If better amps are what you're looking for (and not additional features), I would recommend you spend your money on a quality separate amp and use your 2801 as a pre-amp.
I recently added an Acurus 100x3 to my 2801 and have been...
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that Sagan was agnostic, not atheist.
Seems hard to fathom that a die hard atheist would write a book that ends with the proof of the existance of God.

I'm probably coming in for the GP, and would definitely be interested. I'm not sure how much time I'll have, though. Should know more as the date nears.
