My posting ability has gone out the window.
I have tried twice to type in Panasonic RP-91 and it has twice not shown up. Here is try three.

DTS is set to PCM. (which should have been the default) It has to be otherwise it would be sent to the receiver still encoded. Since your receiver can't decode it, you'd get nothing.
If you have it set to PCM and your analog cables are hooked up properly, and your receiver is in the...
Chris:
I have an RP-91 hooked up to my Outlaw 1050 via both a Digitial Coax and the 5.1 analog cables (into the 1050's direct inputs).
The analog cables are necesary to use the DVD-Audio. However, I also use it for my DTS movies. Because, although the 1050 does DTS decoding, it cannot pull...
i talked a store manager into selling me a copy of TPM on saturday morning. it felt like a drug deal!. but, made for a great saturday night watching it. great video but AWESOME audio. the center rear channel MAKES the movie. the pod race is all it is cracked up to be. havne't been able to figure...
I, too, am the proud (NOT) owner of an unwatched copy of the FULLSCREEN version of Mummy Returns. Rushed home last night, stopped by Best Buy, grabbed the movie, got in line, the three people in front of me all were getting it also. Got home and got the system ready, pressed play and then my...
Buzz:
Thanks for the insight. So, is there something more complex about DPLII than say DTS or DD? There were/are stand-alone processors for those formats and they were economically feasible. Maybe not for everyone, but, they were available. I was just hoping there would be something I could...
if so, who makes them? if not, are any planned? and if none planned, is there a technical reason why this isn't possible?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, I have almost the same setup you have except an SVS sub instead. It is a big difference. Borrow a speaker if you don't have one, hookup a long piece of speaker wire, drape it across your floor and watch a movie with it. You'll be sold. The best demo of a center surround is...
Dean:
That's the way to avoid controversy! Say you prefer the Klipsch. Now you can say you were on the "winning" team ,whichever speakers he buys!

Not any real big deal, I wouldn't use DPLII very often as I don't really watch much "TV" out in the main room. That is why I went ahead and got an Outlaw 1050 a few months back. But, I was just curious if any DPLII outboard decoder is avaialable, of if someone is planning on making one. If...
John:
The answer to your original question is YES. The Outlaw will extract a matrixed center surround signal if it is there (DD EX) and will "make up" a signal out of the 5.1 signal if it is not. Since you have the Outlaw, and the capability, I would strongly recommend getting an additional...
Shawn:
The setup looks great. I, too, love my Sawzall. It just recently completed some demo in the kitchen. Cutting through studs is fun when you have a tool like that.
Anyway, just curious if there was any thought given to making cutouts for the speakers? Maybe not full-flush, but...
It appears all your other questions were answered by by others, which only leaves one for me:
Laura Palmer was killed by her father, Leland, otherwise known as "Bob".

Been following the recent posts on Nohr and communicating a bit w/ Mr. Barnes. I am intrigued by the speakers, partially because of the exoticness of the look, and, the WAF. Of course, the most important thing is the sound, which, per all the reviews is pretty darn good.
I am currently using...

I am using a Panny RP-91 w/ the Outlaw. I have been very happy with it. You can use the 1050 as a pre, many people have upgraded to the 750 amp and kept the 1050 as the pre.
The 1050 has 4/5 channel stereo via the DSP modes. They all are pretty worthless except for "Natural". That...
Bought my SVS (with Ryan S., by the way!) due to this forum. Never even heard of them. Went to AudioReview after to check them out. Couldn't be happier.

Just another to agree with the above posts. No special "certification" needed on receiver to use DVD-Audio. I am happily using my RP-91 on my Outlaw. As long as you have 5.1 inputs you are fine.

The train scene from Unbreakable is pretty awesome. The "time to wake up the Indians!" scene from Vertical Limit shakes the house. SuperSpeedway is wonderful. Das Boot, U-571. The list is long. However, my all-time favorite as far as awesome sound goes from beginning to end is Titan A.E...
You can have either the player or the receiver do the DD or DTS decoding. If the player does it, then you must use the 5.1 outputs. If you want the receiver to do it, then the digital output is used. If your receiver can do DTS, no real need for the 5.1 outputs. Unless, you feel your player...
don't know if ron or tom will read this thread, but, if they do:
Has SVS ever thought of venturing into Car audio? I am sure they could come up with something better than the Bazooka Tubes using their cylinder designs. I certainly wouldn't want them to spend any time on car audio until the...
please know that i was completely joking. i couldn't resist making a "please help me" post when i saw these things. has anyone EVER actually heard a pair of these in person? i have thought the $1000 pairs of cables were crazy, but, $23.5K! yikes.
$23.5K for copper? i wonder how much their...
I have an offer to buy 3 sets of these for only $40,000. This includes shipping! I want to use these with my Bose. I have to act soon, should I do it?

congrats, matt. i have the 25-31PC and you will NOT be disappointed. upgrading from the little thing you have now will be like the first time you saw a DVD and couldn't believe how you managed with VHS all those years. you will just giggle to yourself when you first feel it.
although, i am...
tell your buddy to scrape up the additional $50-75$ and get the Panasonic DVD-RP91. you can't go wrong with that one. I got mine about 2 weeks ago and am enjoying it more every night. $466 delivered from etronics, double-boxed. i have a non-HD RPTV, so the progressive is not a use for me, but...
