Any suggestions for an hdtv stb for the Loewe? I would like to buy one but I am scared off by all the problems I've read about them. I know it has to be one with a VGA connection.

Darrel, I was told by the dealer who sold me my Loewe Calida that you don't need a progressive scan player since the t.v.'s line doubler does it as good or better. I was also told that Loewe recommends the s-video connection as opposed to the component video connection. Also, don't you need...

I need to try the same thing on my Sony 560D. It often had the C:13 error but now it says NO DISC. Will this work for this too? How do you know if a dvd is single layer or not?

I have had a Sony S560D dvd player for the past 2 years and it has always worked fine for me. All of a sudden it is saying that it is flashin NO DISC as I try to play a dvd. Any suggestions on what to do? I can't believe I have to buy a new player after only 2 years.

Darrel, Hoew did it work out with the Loewe transcoder box? I would like to buy a progressive scan dvd player for my Loewe t.v. but I am not sure it is worth it. Let me know if you were able to hook it up and if it looks that much better than a non-progressive player. Rubén

I have owned a Loewe Calida 32" tv for a year. The picture is beautiful although I've never had it callibrated, either professionally or with a disc. Does callibration make the picture significantly better? Does anyone have any experience with Loewe t.v.'s?

I watched Six Feet Under last night on HBO with satellite. It seemed like it was surround sound but I am not 100% sure. It sounded pretty good though. I have a directv receiver but I don't think it offers dolby surround sound. I wasn't aware that there were different types of directv receivers.

I just got my surround sound hooked up and dvd's sound great. I was wondering if there are surround sound broadcasts on movies and shows on T.V. I am mostly referring to premium channels like HBO, etc. If there are, are there any extra wires to hook up and does it matter what type of wires are used?

Now I am more confused than ever. I don't know if I should be messing with the dish if that is not the problem and i could make it worse. One thing, though, this only happens sometimes, not all the time. And it's only certain channels that are affected.

Where does it tell you on the dish what direction and elevation it is pointing to? Also, do I need to touch the elevation at all when it is telling me to move the dish 3 degrees?
