What music to test my subwoofer?

I've heard it at Home Entertainment 2001 in NY. A dealer was demoing his WATT Puppies with it. Just amazing. I bought it and love it still (for the music, not only the sound): Mickey Hart/Planet Drum: Supralingua. It's an HDCD treat. The best for demoing your sub is UMASHA (the first track) of...

Anyone running Paradigm studio 100s with a 49tx

The VSX-49TX has an option for bi-amping the front speakers. So if you are running a 5.1 setup, you can bi-amp your front speakers with two channels for each.

    Pioneer VSX-49TX

Further to the differences between the 49 and the 47, the 49 has all channel 96kHz/24Bit A/D Conversion and the 47 only for the front two channels. 3:2 Pull down?

The 3:2 pull-down circuit converts film based 480i into 480p. If you feed your TV with a 480p signal from a progressive scan DVD player, the 3:2 circuit in the TV will have nothing to do. In fact you should check if the TV locks into 'full' mode when it senses a 480p signal or lets you select...

    Superbit DVD-s

Is Superbit for real? Can the enhancements be seen with average equipment? The few comments I have seen apparently applaud the sound quality too, even though I don't beleive the sound is handled any differently from a regular DVD. (Max. half bit-rate DTS?) Thanks.

Whats a good 16:9 TV for use with interlaced DVD player?

Well, you are looking into progressive scan and HDTV. Your best bet is a set with a line doubler and 3:2 pull-down with as many aspect ratio setting as possible. A best pick is the Pioneer Elite line - the street prices are much lower than the MSRP.
