This is the triple dip.
1) 35th Anniversary
2)Karata Kid Collection(added Dobly Vision & 4 deleted scenes about 3:15 min)
3)4oth Anniversary(new commentary track & 30 min of dallies)
I did a search and didn't see a thread already. Saw this back between Christmas & New Year's. Didn't know anything about the Von Erich's before seeing this.
My Steelbook arrived today from Gruv. The press releases I have seen & the picture above only state HDR10 but the theatrical cut does have Dolby Vision also.
Too bad Sony didn't include the commentaries on the 4k this time either, since they jettisoned all the foreign language tracks except for a Spanish & French one.
Be aware if buying used the new Dolby Vision disc of TGON has the same disc art as the previous release even the copyright dates and disc # of 6113251 is the same. The color is more saturated on my Dolby Vision disc label compared to the older disc.
Yes. Todd's review mentioned, "... rather than present both cuts on the disc using seamless branching (which would conserve disc space), each cut has its own video file on the BD100 disc."
When selecting "Play Special Edition" a sub-menu pops up with "Play Movie" or "Play Movie with...
Steelbook arrived yesterday. Another plus in favor of the disc is when watching the Special Edition with the mono track WB has found most of Bruce's recordings for the lines in the scene w/ Roy Chiao at the beginnning.
Finally got a shipping notice on the 29th, they waited to ship it out with the Steelbook of Cross of Iron & I've had the set for a week. Slowly been going through it. Final Game of Death video essay is a big 👍 . Big bummer though was the outer packaing did have some wear/dinged corners but...
In this instance if one is 4k capable the 1080p blu-ray is obsolete. All the special features minus the photo gallery were ported over and we got back the commentary not seen since the 1st DVD. I'll gladly take the commentary track over the photo gallery.
Amazon UK still hasn't shipped mine. Pre-ordered back on 4/18. Got an email 7/13 from them saying release date was pushed back a week to the 24th. Heard that alot of people that ordered from Arrow are getting crushed/damaged corners due to insufficent shipping packaging.
Saw this yesterday in a Dolby Cinema had some great bass. I ducked out of the series after the 3rd Bay movie until Bumblebee. Thought it was entertaining. I also would put this as #2 behind Bumblebee.
That's who that was ok. Sounded familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.
I saw the Flashback Cinema viewing a couple weeks back which was being touted as 4k digital 50th Anniversary and I was sitting there thinking the same thing. But I am still going to buy it supposedly this will have both cuts and I will replace the 2k disc in the 4k Arrow set with this.

Standard release for me. Already have the 1080p Steelbook and unless that artwork changes it's the exact same outside & inside.
Let's see I've bought this on:
1)VHS
2)DVD
3)Blu-ray
4)Steelbook Blu-ray
5)Itunes digital
6)soon to be 4k
this looks like the end of the road, I don't think I'm going...
I was on the fence about getting this since I own the 1080p Arrow release but my local Best Buy had 4-5 copies on the shelf and the price was only $24.99 & I had a $20 reward cert. It didn't ring up at the register and when they checked it online they were going to charge me $34.99 so I had to...
