First DIY sub with a Dayton 12" DVC

Hello I'm finally going to be building my first sub. I'll be using the 250W plate amp from Partexpress (no bass boost) and the Dayton DVC 12" driver. From what I've read, the Dayton and the Shiva are almost identical. Can I use one of Adire's Shiva plans from their website with the Dayton...

    Redgum plate amps, any good?

Hi guys I'm going to be building a Tempest sub soon (hopefully). I'm in Australia, so the choice of amps are different than in the US. The Adire Distributor over here sells Redgum amps for the Tempest and Shiva drivers. Here is a linkto the subs specifications The two different models...

My snazzy new circle jigs :)

Quick question. With these jigs, do you attach it to the centre of the circle you're going to cut out? (Would make sense, but what happens right at the end of routering, when the cutout drops down?)

Curtis Mathis TV, Will it do the squeeze?

Not sure if this helps or not... :) I have a LG 51cm TV which has a "Wide" mode. However, it only works on TV channels, not on any AV inputs. All it does it make the TV 4:3 picture look like a widescreen dvd, ie letterbox. I initially thought it might be the squeeze trick, but it doesn't...

Can I use service menu to get rid of wavy left side of screen?

Check the contrast levels with the PS 2 on when playing a game. See if the line changes if you decrease the level. Also, try a different input on your TV (and a different connection type if you can) ------------------

    Sony DVPS330 video problem

I have the same problem with the Sony DVP-535D (Australia model). From what I have gathered it is a problem with the unit itself and supposedly a sony shop can fix it. I'm not sure what they do tho. I will be getting mine dropped off sometime this week to get fixed (it's a warrenty job)...

How do I tell people that BOSE is not high end??

My mate just bought a second hand set of Bose floor standing speakers...Don't know the model, but costs $400 AUS (about 200 US)...They have a 8" (i think) driver and a tweeter and these things put out an insane amount of bass...Sure, the midrange is very lacking, but for his application, they...

    Onkyo 595 ($1299) vs Onkyo 575x ($999) vs Onkyo 494 ($849)

Hi, I'm from Australia too! :) Just made this choice a month ago I went for a RX-V520 ($899) instead of the others. Newer model than the Onkyo for the same price, has got 5-channel stereo and sounded great. Go for what sounds the best to YOU! and make sure you listen to a large range. The...

    TV Geometry problems

Thanks for the prompt responses guys! Really appreciated! My fears are realised then, but I find it not very good of LG to release a TV that can't go very bright! Oh well, time for some calibration! Thanks a real lot again!! ------------------

    TV Geometry problems

Hi guys, wondering if you could help! :) I have a 51cm LG Flatscreen TV, about 5 months old. The problem is that the top half of the screen is sometimes 'bent' towards the left..say for instance there is a vertical line on the screen, instead of being straight up and down it looks like this...
