I use the cheap Rectocon S-video/Composite switcher for Component switching and its works just fine. Hell, I use Composite Red/White/Yellow as my Component cables on my XBOX and HD receiver. If there is a picture quality difference, I can't notice it.
Good Choice! I own both systems and leave my PS2 hooked up in my guest room on my 27" tube and have my XBOX on my HDTV. IMO, no comparision in picture quality!
I think the best deal right now is to have CC pricematch the Toys-R-Us Bundle which includes SM Sunshine, Scooby Doo, Extra Controller and a Memory Card for $199. CC will give you 10% of the difference and you will get the $20 GC for Metroid. If you use your charm you may even be able to get...
You can get it at Amazon's Canadian website for around $56 shipped or at playcentric.com for ~$58 shipped with the appropriate coupons. I just received mine last week from playcentric, which is an awesome deal IMO.
Call around to different Best Buys. Also check Circuit City. This was at the Best Buy, Northpoint Mall north of Atlanta. I want to say they were marked $199 and they were Silver. But, that doesn't mean that is what they will ring up for. Good Luck!
I think I'll rent Twister for the next open house and have that playing in the basement for added effect.
:laugh:That sounds like a great choice when trying to sell a house in Wichita!
As of last week, Southlake Mall Costco had 2 of the 4 tins still in stock for $21.99 each. You may want to check your local Costco for a great deal! ;)
Mark, let us know how that CM 4 bay bowtie works for you. I had no luck with that thing no matter where I mounted it. I had to order a Blonder Tongue which costed me a nickel! :)
I sent him an e-mail right after his post and never heard back. After past experiences, I'm always leary of these mass sell offs. That is why I requested e-bay verification or something similar. They also must have an established PAYPAL account.
Mark, I would hold off on the componet switcher for now. There are no HD XBOX games available right now, only some @ 480p. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it will be a while before 1080i games will be available. Just hook your XBOX up to one of the componet inputs. Also, I don't own a Mits...
Conrad, unfortunately picking up Digital OTA reception is trial and error. I live 40 miles from the Atlanta Towers and spent alot of time trying different antennas, antenna locations, etc. and I still have only obtained marginally good success. I would suggest borrowing a HD receiver from a...
You have to lock in the digital signal before it will display. However, while you are watching a program you can experience pixelation or complete signal dropout if the locked signal is weak or certain atmospheric conditions such as wind, rain, etc. start affecting the signal. They fact that...
www.hdtvgalaxy.com does a pretty good job listing what is showing in HD & ED (Fox). I would guess Chicago is pretty typical with the other major cities.

I can't answer your question about Chicago. Its up to your local affiliates to pass the signal. Check avsforum.com for more info concerning Chicago. Fox does broadcast certain shows in 16X9 480p (Boston Public, X-Files, Dark Angel, Ally McBeal, 24, Titus to name a few). This is there version...
What TV do you have? I'll take a stab at this but I think you will only benefit from the "16x9 enhanced mode" while viewing Anamorphic DVDs or "16x9" 480p/1080i broadcasts. NBC broadcasts the West Wing and ER in "Letterboxed" Standard Definition Format (Basically the 16x9 image matted on a...
