I just got the 4 disc version at Best Buy. They had about 4 of the 5 disc cases and plenty of the other versions. I'm about to watch the doc on the making. Can't wait! :) Well my question to all is this: WAS IT WORTH THE WAIT? :)
I'll be getting the 4 Disc version at Best Buy. I'm so excited! :) The doc will be the first thing I'm going to watch. Ican't watch anything else because I'm busy around Christmas [I sound like Santa Claus hehehehehe]. Work is the reason. :frowning: Sunday I hope to watch the Final Final Final...
Was it just The Bourne Ultimatum that is the problem? I liked the arresting way the camera moved in the first two films. I have not seen the third one. The quick editing of the car chase in the Bourne Supremacy was a bit much but I admire the "you are along for the ride" feel. Not every movie...
Wow! Yes! I have waited 6 years for this title to be released this way. March 25th is still a ways off though. Lets hope LA Confidential get this treatment. Beatty is not a fan of DVD [or maybe just interviews for them] if you listened to his interview for the Reds DVD. I could be wrong but I...
Son Of Frankenstien, House Of Frankenstien, 2 movies on the Dracula Universal DVD, [Val Lewton] I walked with A Zombie/The Body Snatcher, and The Inivsable Man [starring Claude Raines]. Thats my Halloween movies. Its nice to see I'm not the only one that had this idea on the forums. This is...
I'm shocked! I thought Mickey Rooney would be a nice guy in person. :frowning: He seems sweet. I'm going to have to listen to that commentary. Which dvd is it on again? Twilight Zone [the movie?]?
That "looking a gift horse in the mouth" picture is my feeling also. A paper insert does not effect me at all. I stick em in the DVD box and forget them. :)
My review of this set is simply this: MY NOM FOR DVD OF THE YEAR. Hows that for a review?! The Blade Runner set might change my mind however. LOL. Congrats to George Feltentien and the whole Warner Home video team for the exellent work. That doc is all the Mr. Feltenstien said it would be...
I have the Jazz Singer on pre order and its just shipped!! :) I hope to get it in the next few days. Anyone else have it yet and can comment on the print, the doc, and the supliments?
LOL. I might not have even noticed the mistake. I want to thank Mr. Harris again for his take on what is sure to be an A+ Warner/Feltenstein production. I will be getting this when its released on the 16th. :)
So there is some good news. Thank to all for posting it. I hope Beth is right about Bonnie & Clyde. That Davis 100th sounds outstanding. A Gangsters set Vol. 2? Count me in!!! That leaves L.A. Confidential for me to be overjoyed in 08. :)
I got my copy Sunday and its wonderful. Another top job form Warners. Bring on more! :) I also like the packaging. The overlap does not hurt me any. The fact that the outside is sturdy like that of the Sturges set makes me smile. No more plain cardboard. :)
I think we may know soon [just a guess] about the WHV releases for this year. 3 more months of 2007. Hmmm. I'm on the edge of my seat. LOL. I check the forums every day for any news. :)
I will be picking this set up as soon as I can [a week or so]. Thanks Robert Harris for telling us how much us buying this and others means to Mr. Feltenstien and WHV. I have only seen Babes In Arms but that was enough. Its wonderful. Anyone that enjoys the movies from the golden age of...
[WARNER] TROG will be coming this year! Joan would be so proud....and you're damned right LA CONFIDENTIAL SHOULD have won the Oscar for Best Picture...we will be honoring it in a 10th anniversary 2 disc set this year, and also on HD & BD. [WARNER] We have NO failure to communicate...
Yes but DVD is not laser disc. They will not wait [imho] for the format war to end to release classics. Bonnie & Clyde and L.A. Confidential are still in the works I imagine. Only time will tell.
I'm getting a bit nervous but not as much as I'll be if there is no good announcements by early to mid October. LOL. I hope you are right about announcements next week. L.A. Confidential, and Bonnie & Clyde are the ones I'm waiting for. Taxi Driver CE [purchased] Rooney & Garland...
Most of my buying from now on will be done online. Best Buy just does not have many classics. Amazon used rocks. I got My Man Godfrey for $20 or so. It pays to shop around. :) All my Fox Studio Classics were bought at Best Buy $15 when released. All but one of my Warner sets were purchased at...
Could it be that any good elements for the African Queen no longer exist and they might be afraid to tell anyone. Not accusing. I'm just state this as possible. Anything is possible. Rights issues etc.
I already have the Image box set of City Lights/Modern Times/Gold Rush/The Great Dictator. Isn't the image quality better on this version below? http://video.barnesandnoble.com/sear...93764821&itm=1 Is that one in the link better than Image? Should I be satisfied with my Image disks?
I found this on the Barnes & Noble site yet it does not come up on Amazon. Warners? Is this another regoin or a new City Lights? http://video.barnesandnoble.com/sear...1&z=y#pDetails Click on the picture of the box for bigger size. Also it says "may be available at a later date". Hmm.
