I would recommend Sports Illustrated for kids as well. Also, Ranger Rick is a nature magazine which may be perfect for him. check that out at http://www.nwf.org/rangerrick/
I had this DVD for a few weeks before I actually viewed it. After seeing it yesterday I don't know what the hell I waited so long for... Does anyone else own this DVD? The sound just blew me away. I saw it as a kid and liked it, but it takes on all new meaning as an adult. Its a great subwoofer...
I have the Sony SAWM40 sub and read awhile ago about some modifications that can be made to this sub to improve performance. Can someone tell me these exact mods please?
Thanks
I asked the same question when looking for a startup HT receiver. It didn't take long before I wanted more! I now have the Denon 1802 and it seems to be all I need for now. It can be had for $350 if you look hard enough.
I had a JVC rx-7010vbk and it was great as a stereo receiver. When I started using it as a surround receiver I noticed all its weaknesses. Apparently (from what I have read) the center and surround channels are made poorly compared to the mains. I didn't put up with it for very long until I sold...
Interesting...
The distortion is from the center channel only. If i cut off the center and divert it to the mains, dialogue sounds great. I've used 3 different center speakers and all have the same results. I finally came to my wits end when watching the Tron 20th Ann. edition. The first scene...
Vlad,
Yes, I have had the problems, which led me on a search for the solution. I took the unit to an authorized dealer and pretty much got yelled at saying the unit was performing to spec. I play scenes like the Matrix lobby and others, any yes, it does sound great... I only hear the...
The following was a review on another site for my receiver...
Measured 1.5 Volts of "Zero Crossing Distortion" on the Center, and the left and right Rear Surrounds Channels at a -10db at 1K Hertz input leve. At a 5 volt output that's a whopping 25% distortion. Swept through the whole audio...
No, my unit doesn't have the center tone control feature, I can only set the level on the different cahnnels. It sounds like it would do the trick though. I noticed the same "brightness" with my center channel. Thanks for the input.
JohnDG,
Answers to your questions...
1.) The speakers are not matched, they were the same manufacturer before I upgraded the center. I plan to continue to upgrade using the same line as the new center I bought.
2.) This problem occurs with all the surround modes... I did a series of tests...
I have a JVC RX-7010VBK receiver. The reviews I read were good ones and I had a ton of gift certificates to the online store selling it so I purchased the unit. As a stand-alone reciever with just 2 speakers it was fine... when I finally added the surround package I thought the quality was...
