Aeon's up front with Cinema....Claritys in back with Scripts as side surrounds...Depth sub....Driven with REF50, REF200.2, AND REF 200.5....SOUNDS GREAT in spite of horrible room!
How long did you own the 950 (or other units from outlaw), how much did you pay and then sell it for, how did you like it, what did you then get, how does the new piece stack up....etc, etc,
I've seen great reviews ,especcially from some British publications( whose opinion I value 'cause some don't take advertising and they are more harsh in their critiques),but I haven't demoed them in years, Anyone have any opinions/experiances?
I am getting the 507....LOOKING FOR $1850, HOPEFULLY FOR SOMEONE IN MID-ATLANTIC, so as to avoid shipping/paypal/concerns of buyer...unit can be tested out in my home or yours (if situation allows)...I am a B&K dealer, unit is @2 years old. Perfect condition...version 2.05 software......
when the mass merchants become 65+ % of a mnfgrs buisness , as best buy will certainly be to Klipsch, they begin to dictate terms . They say "gee, we don't think that your models x and y fit into our price structure ; so either figure out how to make them cost us $40 and $60 less or we can't...
A friend had an HTIB when I first met him (@$500 system) which is now in his bedroom. Bought a Yamaha rxv995 & boston acoustic speakers for his basement to go with his old 35inch tv and mid-grade dvd. Now that system is upstairs in his family room as I help him remodel his basement for a REAL...
Both seem to be built on same platform...limited bass mngmnt
(100hz?)....dcdi.....look reasonable for the price point... $100 more for 5 disc...any thoughts??????????
I am a stickler about voice matching amps and speakers, but I am not exactly comfortable in recommending wide dispersion side-surrounds over direct firing rear surrounds in all aplications...I like an either-or-or-both combination best! I need help in developing a list of 7.1 rcvrs/pre-pros that...
If you took the least expensive Yamaha, Sony, Denon, kenwood, etc. rcvr(that had all the current formats) and took out the amps(which would probably allow for a lighter power supply),how inexpensive could it be...inquiring minds would like to know...would there be a market for this piece...
I DON'T WANT THIS THREAD TO MENTION BRAND NAMES, but I would like to develop an idea of what features (in order of relative importance) we need/desire in a remote. I don't often place the remote control that an a/v receiver has anywhere near the status/importance of "sound quality" or "build...
I work selling A/V equipment and since dd and dts (as well as other discrete, multi-channel formats) have become the standard (as opposed to the old dsp and dpl days)I am often faced with customers that have good (even great)gear that is un-balanced(ie; Kef referance fronts, a Sonus Faber...
My initial thought is that the new pieces sound/look good.
Anyone here own them or played with 'em long enough to give a more informed response...I have only spent a limited time with these units and it's been a while since I've dealt with Kenwood pieces.....the entre piece coupled with the...
Saw the combo today...met with people from Yammie & Stewart
....I'm a believer, DLP IS THE SHIZNIT! CONNECTIVITY, BRIGHTNESS,BLACK LEVELS,COLOR SATURATION,TITS!
A new standard?maybe.......
O.K.,
Here goes.......I have in my store the sony system w/ the satelite speakers ,built-in dvd player(available in single or 5-disc variety), at @ $500- $600 . I also have the bose lifestyle systems w/ built-in CD PLAYER (single or 6-disc) at substantially more money .Can you guess which I...
I have a THX CERTIFIED/RUBBERSTAMPED/LOGO'D RECEIVER , now that I rarely use DPL (SO ,i , don't want de-correlation), the movie companies fix the "pumped-up" highs in the film to video transfer (so, I don't need cinema re-eq), and I didn't need lucas to tell me that I had choosen a great...
I have satellite so I'm having trouble answering my customers concerns about how dplII will sound with our local (bad comcast) cable company's notoriously unreliable mts stereo signal...have been told anecdotally that it is not so great...can anyone relate their personal experiances...
