Does the 3803 support DPLIIx ...and is this one of the refurbs flooding the market? I heard that 6th ave was selling Yamaha and yamaha terminated their e-seller agreement (authorization).....any truth to this?
In light of the RXZ9, I would think that if those are the only two additions to the 5803 then Yamaha's new flagship will spank 'em pretty rightously.....This is what I've heard from Denon Reps though; it's a shame really...... ....Robert, I have some friends in your area who deal Yammie if...
I was not being flippant ,I was truely stating that if what it sounded like didn't matter and price was the key element ,then walmart has surround sound systems for $159...
I still love my brick and mortar stores and would be sad to see them go…just want much more reasonable prices without being taken to the cleaners ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^end quote^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ lets all buy chinese stuff at walmart and "RACE TO THE BOTTOM"....the problem is that I don't...
I'm sure those guys could change the name, I don't think they've done much advertising yet....I have a friend (another pro-group member) who gave me my first listen...very impressive.
John, I am glad you have had great results with your vsx45 and that it has never left you wanting. I have ,however, hooked up hundreds of systems ,and while I like the sound quality of the Elites mosfet amps ,they would be last on my aforementioned list with regaurds to "real world" power. Yes...
30 watts per channel is just piss poor on mid/high-end reciever like that... while a Denon or Harman/Kardon at that price range would be pushing about 75 watts per channel... sad, just sad..... **************************end of quote......... All I can say is that I sell Yam, DENON, ES...
Yeah, the room needs some treatment, and the speakers "perfect" placement will ,as always, fight room asthetics.......I will endevour to set them up better than most of the places where I've heard them.....
Aeon's up front with Cinema....Claritys in back with Scripts as side surrounds...Depth sub....Driven with REF50, REF200.2, AND REF 200.5....SOUNDS GREAT in spite of horrible room!
THX Ultra 2 in 5.1 soundtracks would be better in THX Surr 7 rather than 6 ? or no ?.....decorrelation? differant sounds from 6 & 7 speakers or would you run it in surr 6 to get it that way??????
How long did you own the 950 (or other units from outlaw), how much did you pay and then sell it for, how did you like it, what did you then get, how does the new piece stack up....etc, etc,
I will comment that I believe that many mnfgs don't put much effort into DSP quality, it's like they do it to say "yeah, we got concert hall too...", but we should remind ourselves that there are some companies that do it well and I'll use Yamaha as the prime example....Many moons ago Yammie...
Look at the 730 or 740 as they add on screen display (very helpful with Yammies), some extra parameter controls, an lcd window in the remote, and a phono input....... The 740 also has zone 2 capability and "virtual B" speakers (a very cool feature).... When the 740 came out Yam had a lot of...
Actually ,I was going to comment that from a musicality point of view, with regards to bass mngmnt, I would suggest one of the REL models.....While most don't have obscenely high output, they blend in well and solve many bass mngmnt challenges.....I KNOW many here are looking for 120 db at 16 Hz...
I loved my pronto until I received an AVR507 from B&K which came with an MX700 (newer version of the mx500)...now the 700 gets all the play! Someone gave me a great deal on the "sidekick" mini-remote that is ussually with the MX700's and has proven to be just the thing for the kids! I am still...
unit has a zone 2 out ...the 1/2 zone is the "b" speaker option I discussed ,which plays the same source as mains but allows for "a" to be shut off completely....
o.k., for the first one that I got to play with, the 740... everythying the 730 has plus es dscrt(from the 440 and up) ,neo 6(also from the 440 and up) ,more level controls, more parameter controls, s-videovideo conversion, and 2.5 zones of audio ( when "a" speakers are shut off and "b"...
Omnisat's or Omnisat micros from Mirage...there is a whole thread on this line on this board and EVERYBODY that hears them are impressed....also they are very difficult to place improperly.....
I would go a step further in suggesting you get the rf3ii's now because with Klipsch expending an enormous amount of effort in tooling-up for all the new synergy speakers to load-in to bestbuy, it MAY be that the new REF line gets less attention......
Weak, anemic and uninvolving sound is the only way to describe it. This was using the coaxial dig input. This was my first experience with Denon and expected a little more. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>end quote,,,, my thoughts as well, but I am bothered by the fact that I can't adjust individual...
