I am not sure if this is a mistake on their part, but Columbia House is accepting advance orders for What's Up, Doc? with a release date of September 3. For those of you that are Columbia House members, go check it out!
I was also disappointed with Windtalkers . To begin with, the movie was centered on Nicolas Cage, not the actual Codetalkers. What was the point of Frances O'Connor's Navy nurse? There were so many war-film cliches and I felt the movie was completely unoriginal. We have the token racist who...
I caught the end of Raising Arizona this morning on Encore and a question I have always had about the movie came back to me: What is the significance of the Road Runner-esque tattoes H.I. (Nicholas Cage) and Smalls ("Tex" Cobb) have?
Ernest,
I feel your pain. My girlfriend refuses to miss a minute of Alias. I will probably set my TiVo to do the same as you:
8:57pm-9:03pm FOX for AOTC
9:03pm-10pm ABC for Alias
I would like for the Angel discussion to be moved out of the Eternal Buffy thread. It seems that everyone is quick to bash Buffy and compare Season Six to Angel's superior Season Three. Also, the fact that we will probably never see another Angel/Buffy crossover due to network politics is...
I called the closest IMAX theater playing Beauty and the Beast , which was Memphis, Tennessee. They told me it would play through May. My girlfriend and I attended a 1:00 Wednesday showing a few weeks ago and were the only ones in the theater.
The Ultimate Toy Box - Reference sound and picture, thorough extras
Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition - great overall package, borders on "film school in a box"
Fight Club - one of the first releases to show DVD's true potential
This is a disc I really, really want. However, I cannot brng myself to purchase it until Columbia acknowldeges a problem and replaces the first "Swedish" subtitle.
Was The Bad and the Beautiful released on February 5? I have not seen it at a brick-and-mortar nor seen any online reviews for it. Did anyone receive this from a pre-order? Just wondering.
I was surprised and happy to see Napoleon on TCM last night. I was interested in how the "widescreen" scenes would be handled, as I have never seen Napoleon on television. It appeared that the three parts were placed in a 2:35:1 ratio. Will someone please comment on this (the ratio)?
I wish that the film was anamorphically enhanced on the DVD. This would have been a purchase instead of a rental for me. However, since this one can be had for $19.99 now, it's a no-brainer. The movie I saw in the theater pales in comparison to the director's cut.
