I don't think any version of the original Trilogy on LD is worthless. I think you got a good deal, the book isn't that big of a deal. The sound is PCM stereo and can be decoded into Pro-Logic.

I own all three sets as well. Actually I have picked up all three within the last 2 years. I would hold on too it. I doubt the extras on the set will ever be included on a future dvd set. Plus it is a nice big boxed set...you don't see that kinda stuff on dvd, I actually got into LD after dvd.

I have been following this story since its begining and I have to say shame on you Universal. I want to pick up the repressed DTS version but I really don't think that I want to give my money to a company that doesn't have the guts to admit it made a mistake.
