40 years ago, I used to watch with a buddy of mine and I found it funny as heck. I picked it up last year to relive those laughs and it just wasn’t as funny as I remember it. So if you’re interested in it I’ll give it to you.
The disc is PAL, not NTSC.
Vaguely. I was 6 or 7 when it ran. I remember it as funny. The Dinky Dunstan clip cracked me up. I'll have to check out some more. Thanks for the post.
Hey Nelson,
My 65" A90J came by FedEx (I think that they do all of the shipping for VE, but you'll have to ask them). The guy was nice enough to bring it in for me (they're not supposed to go in your house, but I have some back issues). A few days later my nephew came over to help set it up...
I had list of material that I had planned on watching when I received my 65” A90J, but life gets in the way and plans change. Now I’m back on track and finally enjoying my A90J. Pacific Rim, The Shallows and Lucy. Wow! The picture is just gorgeous. I’m so glad that I decided to pull the trigger...
will the sound come through the coax AND hdmi I believe it will. Your DVD player should allow you to turn off the audio going to the HDMI in the setup menu.
I have the S77 hooked to my Sony 36XS955 and do not have that problem. Last year when I was researching DVD players I recall that some people were having this problem, but it was not restricted to any one unit or TV. My memory is shady on this, but I seem to recall that the remedy was to turn...
I'm partial to Denon myself. Also, as suggested, go with individual components. Make sure that you get an AVR with all the inputs for all the components you have or plan to get and allow for some expansion. Make sure that there are the correct input types for your components (Example...
Hook it directly to your TV. Being that it is a cartoon or some short that won't be of any significant sound/picture quality, you would just switch your video input on your TV to your primary and you're good to go.
I have the Panny S77 HDMI out to my Sony 36XS955. There is an option in my Panny setup to turn off the audio on the HDMI out, which I have done. I run the digital audio out from my Panny to my Denon AVR-3300. Some day I'll upgrade to the 3806 or which ever Denon is out at the time and be able to...
I would try to have mine fixed if it broke, because I can't afford a new one right now. For me, about $200 would be about tops to spend. Maybe a little more. If you're in the position to buy a new one, but nothing really fits the bill, then fix the 3300 until what you really want comes out...
I had one made for my 36XS955 Sony. Check post #356: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&page=12&pp=30 Also, Sanus makes one: https://www.sanus.com/cgi-bin/web_st....html&cart_id=
I remember reading a post about someone who's 3300 broke. I don't remember what the deal was, but I do recall that he couldn't get it fixed due to parts or something. It left an uncomfortable feeling with me. I love my 3300. Also, I can't afford to replace it (new HDTV and DVD player this year)...
I have the 3300 also. If it ever takes a dump, I would go with the 3806. I haven't read much on it yet, but I would think that it 'upconverts' composite and S-video to component like the 3805 does. That simplifies you video hookups. The 3806 is suppose add the HDMI and maybe DVI inputs. But...
I have the S77 hooked up to my AVR-3300. I set the Panny to 96kHz to match what my Denon will handel. According to the product sheet for the 3803 (http://usa.denon.com/1367.asp?archivedModelSearch=true&archivedCategory=AV&archivedModel=AVR-3803&imageField.x=16&imageField.y=7), you can go to 196.
I have the Panny S-77 with the Sony 36XS955. If I watch a 4x3 disc with the Panny set to 1080i, then I get a 1080i 4x3 picture which is squashed down to 16x9. When I set the Panny to 480p, the picture displays properly at 4x3. I would guess that my Sony sees the 1080i and figures it's 16x9 or...
The S-77 is newer and has a few less features. AVS has a few threads on the S-77, the S-97 and together. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/ You can get some more info here: http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-b...deInt=0&mpeg=0
The Denon upconverts composite and S video to component so you have only one video line to your TV. That is a big convienence. The new 3806 adds HDMI. You then would only run two at the most.
I have the Panny S77 feeding thru HDMI to my Sony KD-36XS955. I love the combo. Here is a thread specifically on the S77: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=549234
