Thanks - well, I can return the favor by mentioning a few classics that are on the way for late summer (not that it by any means exhausts the list): The Rose Tattoo, The Black Orchid, Desire Under the Elms, Broadway Bill, Riding High, Come Back Little Sheba, Danger Diabolik, The Spy Who Came in...
I would suggest arriving around the announced start time. Nick Meyer will stay as long as there are people who need their DVDs autographed but you can never predict the length of these things!
I don't check this forum for four days and all hell breaks loose? For the record, the transfer was supervised and approved by Nick Meyer and the aspect ratio is approx 2:1 at his direction. We generally defer to directors and cinematographers on this issue. Derek Germano was the only one to...
I don't have much to say about the titles listed above -- unfortunately none are on the schedule any time soon for one reason or another. Ragtime I already confirmed for this year. I'm sure 1492 and African Queen are on their way but it may end up being next year.
Looking over requests since my last post, I can confirm that the following are on the schedule for first half 04: more Peanuts, Fatman and Little Boy, Permanent Record, Rustlers Rhapsody, Lucy in seson box sets, Heartburn, We're No Angels, President's Analyst. It won't be much later for Murder...
John will be autographing the inserts (scene selection page) inside the INDIANA JONES DVDs for those who preorder their INDY at the Blockbuster store in LA on Sunset and Virgil. He will be there 7-9PM tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. I'm sure he might autograph other movies of his too.
Richard Chamberlain will be signing SHOGUN DVDs and copies of his recent book at the Virgin Megastore in Los Angeles on Sunset/Crescent Heights on Tuesday, September 23, 7-9PM. If you are in LA, you would be very welcome to meet Richard.
It's the same track on both region DVDs. The real original mono was in terrible shape. The reason it is being called "restored" is that a lot of work was needed to get them up to par.
Yes, we'd like to give you all an update at the festival. Of course my short term goal is to ensure that aspiring F13 filmmakers are aware of the filmmaking "homage" contest since there isn't a lot of time left now.
Well, I'm "dying" to prove you all wrong but will hold my tongue. Did anyone decide to answer the challenge to shoot a F13 homage for the Maniafest/Cinescape announcement? If you missed it, go back to how this thread opened.
There really isn't an intelligent way to respond to so many requests. I just hate threads with too many pages... Yes we do listen, but usually it comes down to these factors: (1) has it ever been transferred to a video format? If not, then there's an expense that in itself can wipe out...
Pete, yours is the longest request and not that I want to encourage people to start writing long requests, but yours was more informed than most. The DVD (of President's Analyst) is on the schedule for next year and yes, we are trying to clear the music you refer to. It's too early to say how...
And I was really enjoying this thread, Dean, until you said that, but hey.... A few comments and questions: 1. Who saw a price for Once Upon a Time in the West? A bit premature, don't you think? 2. Yes we have issued some low price DVDs this year but on the more in-demand titles we will start...
I don't know that Paramount ever said we'd be releasing it (well, I didn't). It was indeed on the schedule for a while but it dropped off. I am not sure what the hold-up is. I would assume it is a rights and clearances issue. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Scrooge is probably going to make this year's cut. And yes, Dragonslayer will be 16:9. I'd forgotten Get Real was regular widescreen - it may have been the last one....
