I love the sound of these. They should really do the job for someone who needs a good pair of sealed cans for work or home. They are in excellent condition and haven't been used much in the year that I have owned them. I have the original box and manual. $100 obo plus shipping.
I'm having a bad Toshiba replaced by Sears and I just wondered what people thought about this years sets from the above brands. Looking in the 50" range. Are any of them more tweakable or more versatile for an ISF? Are there any gotcha's like Toshiba's 540 upconversion?
I have a 15 month old Toshiba 50H81. My wife noticed a problem tonight when she was watching the tennis. I played around with it and sometime in the last 24 hours the brightness has changes dramatically. The previous contrast/brightness setting on avia was 30/58 (out of 100). The setting after...
I've been doing some research and have decided to build a couple of panels to go in front of my RPTV when I'm listening to music. Basically using the Jon Risch/AudioWorx spec's. I haven't been able to locate Rock wool so I'm just going to use the pegboard method. Is there a reason to use...
I recently bought some 40" Atacama Nexus stands for my surrounds and have been researching mass loading. My stands have a center column that can be mass loaded and is approx. 2" (diameter) by 39". The center column has about a fingers width of space to pour a substance into the column. After...
Has anyone ever used this (or any) tape to attach a geometry template to a TV?
Leaving a residue behind worries me, even though scotch make a tape advertised to be easily removed.
Previously I have used masking tape to secure to the outer bezel but then you never get it completely straight...
I recently added an SVS to my setup and I've been wondering if there is a way to set different bass levels for different sources?
At the moment I have the Sub setting at -9 db for music. I would like to be able to set my movie's at -7 db. I don't ever listen at reference and like the extra kick...
I've been having problems with my Philips VCR and the responses to my last post here advised that cleaning was best done my removing the top and cleaning myself.
If I do that and clean the heads with a Qtip do I need a special cleaning substance? Also do I clean all the heads I see or do I need...
I hooked up some new component cables to my TV (Tau 32" 1080i capable) and hit the porgressive button only to see a shimmering screen. I tried rechecking all the connections to make sure they were secure but the shimmer was still there.
I noticed that the shimmer is not only just visable on...
I have an SVS on the way and I'm looking at a 5M cable so it can wander around the room to find the best spot.
What I don't know is what I should do with excess cable. If I end up with some can I coil it or am I safer to snake it.
What does everyone else do with their excess sub cable? Surely...
I have their Greatest Hits CD with me at work and I'm getting a few skips on some tracks. No visable scrathes though. I'll try a few different transports at home and see what happens.
Track 11 "Rush" exhibits some noise in a couple of places. It sounds almost like the tiny "pops" you get from a...
Imagine my dismay when I found the VCR head cleaning tapes in BB and there were too many options. Wet or Dry. Maxell or Scotch. Normal, High Quality and Professional labels too.
The Scotch ones were the only ones that had SVHS on the back and since thats what my VCR is I thought I'd stick with...
Skin shifting is the best way I can use to describe what I have seen. The DVD's that I noticed it on were all rentals, Remember The Titans, The Green Mile and Save the Last Dance.
It is most noticeable when watching african american actors like Denzel Washington. It almost seems like an after...
I remember a thread with suggestions to the above question some time ago and can't find it. I assume it must have been prior to the forum software switch.
I have a 2 Fuji tape's I bought from CC that are both in ordinary condition after 5 months of recording. Anyone got any suggestions for...
My other half now has an office and I wondered if anyone had any ideas for something Boom Boxish that can be used for background music.
Any recommendations on brands to either go with or avoid will be welcome too.
Thanks.
I know there are some other brave souls on this board braving B&M's and show rooms to find a new HD RPTV so here's a report of my evening at Best Buy.
I went in at lunch and they had the 50H81 which I have been waiting to seen in person for a while. I returned after work armed with VE and "What...
Just wondered what an RPTV newbie should be looking for in terms of featues and performance when selecting an RPTV?
I have seen a Hitatchi that looked good at my local Sears but it the brand doesn't seem to have any fans here? Anything I should know?
TIA.
I just recieved my 3rd bad Panasonic flatscreen today and I am not a happy chappy. All 3 have been the 4x3 HD ready direct view Tau's and all 3 have had a slight red push and bad geometry.
I am thinking that it might be time to think about a different manufacturer and/or a different type of TV...
Has anyone had any problems using these discs in a CD player? The reason I ask is that if I actually burned my own CD my player wouldn't play it anyway.
Thanks.

I am glad that I took the advice of people like PeterG and sacrificed a few $$$'s for the support and service available from places like Sears. My salesman is also going to let me know if Sears are planning on...
