This was a good moment. Speaking of smiling, i was shocked when Al laughed when talking to the Russian telegraph guy. I think that was the first time Al has even smiled on this show! I wouldn't have even known he had teeth if this hadn't happened...well that, and i've seen Ian McShane on talk...
ok...not to get graphic here but i still have no idea how Al was "cured"...it seems that once the smelling salts were produced he started to urinate a bloody, gooey white substance. How did this happen? What happened there?
Is anyone disappointed with this season so far? The best character on the show has been incapacitated for pretty much the past two episodes and judging by next week's preview, he's not getting much better. I read somewhere that creator David Milch did this on purpose so people would be willing...
anyone know what the closing credit song was? HBO doesn't have it on their site yet....or last week's (though that was a Dylan song called "not dark yet")....
Doesn't look like she'll be around for long, though..."i'm back in camp...because i'm dyyyyin"....man, i think i hear that in my sleep from seeing the preview so much. Great post Mary, by the way....great points/ideas...
I think you misunderstood...i meant as the viewer it's a big turnaround, at least for me it was...I see what you're saying about time passing in "show time"...Perhaps it's that the language is so different than anything else on tv and i miss a bunch of stuff while i'm trying to figure out what...
Romier....good points. It still felt like they created the rift just to get the story moving for this season though....that's a heck of a fight coming right from the finale of season 1...
here's what i don't get...why does Swearengen dislike bullock all of the sudden? He toasted to bullock's being made sheriff in the last episode of season 1....i know he insulted him but was that just a bad, drunk move?
So true. The only reason i have hbo is for their original programming. Which brings me to another gripe. Why can't they have more original programs and then i don't know - HAVE THEM ON OTHER NIGHTS EXCEPT FOR SUNDAY. Jeez, is Sunday the only day of the week for HBO? No wonder why Arrested...
does anyone know of a good site to keep up with HBO's series schedules? Their site seems sketchy at best when it comes to their series' news and premiere dates. Wondering what's upcoming after SFU and Entourage finish....The Wire? And that new repo-man reality series or something? What about...
FINALLY. I've been posting and writing and basically being a huge pain in the butt about a decent transfer of this great film for awhile. Was hugely disappointed when the Stone box set came out and saw that Born looked as bad as it did on my old laserdisc. I don't quite understand why they've...
As you can see from my sig (which i've had for a long time), i'm a huge Ferrell fan and have been following this flick since it was announced. Needless to say, i caught an early showing this evening and wasn't disappointed. Well, let's say i was dissappointed only because it was short. It felt...
MarcS...that's exactly how i feel. I couldn't quite come up with the word but lack of whimsy is perfect. It seems to have been sucked out of the show so far. There was a little of it last year, i thought. Here's to hoping the show will come around!
What can i say...I've love SFU since day 1. This season hasn't grabbed me that much yet. Nate's storyline is totally not resonating with me. And what was up with that shot of the bed in a wilderness of white snow? Huh? And the "Rico Religious Dream"??? I don't know, like i said i love this show...
I'm with you chad...had no idea this even existed until a couple of days ago...also had a couple of questions/comments for the developer and they got back to me with very quickly. I'd love to see this program grow and hope that fellow mac-based HTF members support this one....
All good points about Swearengen vs. Cy and their evilness...Good point Jeremiah about Al being funny the first couple of episodes..i haven't seen them since they first aired so i'll have to check them out next time they run the season. Don't get me wrong, i really love the Swearengen character...
love this show, have enjoyed every episode so far...Acting is top-notch especially swearengen and jane, powers booth really came into his own last week as well...one thought...has anyone else wondered how Swearengen became so funny and all after the first couple of episodes? If i remember...
I liked how we got to see a lighter side of Swearingen last night (and even a little compassionate)...after the first couple of episodes i began to wonder how he could stay alive long enough if he was such a total psychopath. Everyone would want him dead.
His name is Ricky Jay. He's an outstanding magician but has also acted in some of Paul Thomas Anderson's films...he was in Boogie Nights (as the cameraman) and Magnolia (don't remember what part he played).....
