Hi all. Just finished watching Alien and Aliens again on Blu-Ray (outstanding transfers by the way, looks like they were made yesterday). Watching the two back-to-back brought up some questions I don't quite have the answers for...let's discuss! Did the Weyland-Yutani company already...

Wow...wish I would've seen this thread five minutes ago. I just now ordered Braveheart and Gladiator for in-store pickup at Best Buy. I will probably take Gladiator back and keep Braveheart.

I watched this Sunday night. It was a bit slow (like most Oshii films), but overall an excellent release. The scene after the credits makes the entire movie IMO....

Count me in also - I watched my old Akira VHS and laserdiscs so much, I have the old dub memorized!! Sure, it's not as accurate as the new dub, but I would still like to have it on there.

This is a great film. I saw it twice theatrically (it was playing at the Plaza Theater in Atlanta) and the Blu-Ray looks and sounds much better that the print I viewed.

This is a classic and a must-own on Blu-Ray for me. I will be picking it up on release day (if I can find it, that is...I still haven't found a copy of Ghost in the Shell 2 on store shelves yet).

Watched it last night and it sounded fantastic to my ears. I went in assuming that audio was going to be weak, but I was surprised at how great it was. No problems with the audio at all IMO - I agree with the 4/5 rating. One other thing I noticed - I could follow the racing action much better...

I just bought this, too...maybe I wouldn't have noticed it before, but it will be pretty obvious now. Hopefully this will be corrected.

This was a definate release-day purchase for me. Now I'm gonna wait for several reviews to come in before buying....

I COMPLETELY agree with everything in the above post. I was extremely disappointed in this film. The CGI effects during the chase scenes were perhaps the worst I've ever seen in a film released at an actual theater.

I don't think Markus was a hybrid originally...he became a hybrid when he was awoken early because of the Lycan's blood that seeped into his coffin (the one that Viktor killed in the first movie)....
