Looking to buy my first Mazda (RX-8)

the eclipses are nice. I personally don't like them because they are FWD coupes. Someone made a suggestion of a g35, great cars with lots of torque and rwd. Also check out the Mitsubishi evolution. If you loved the handling of the eclipse, the evo will wet your pants with AWD Turbo.

    In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

Thanks for the replies. I read up on some English history. In the 16th century there was a big power struggle between the parliament and the king, mainly perpetrated by the rise of the middle class. At the end of the century the Bill of Rights was created, effectively permanently limiting the...

    In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

A question, I'm sort of playing the devils advocate here. Where did the legislators get the idea that they deserved the rights to get treated fairly by the government? I mean, its not like they had them in the first place and they were taken away. England (and pretty much every other country in...

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)

That ultimate alliance clip has a great feel, felt like you were watching the cartoon. I'd much rather have a cgi version than a live action version; you can't really capture that same essence with live action. Too bad they made the TMNT geared to 5 year olds with all the dumb jokes, although...

    New convertible. Pontiac v. Mazda

I had a 2001 Miata. Fun car, although it had no room and no power. RWD and light weight was fun on an autocross course. I got rid of it and bought an EVO. Much better power and handling than the Miata (not to mention the space!). I don't miss the droptop at all; I hardly used it anyways. It all...

    Career advice

Thanks all for the suggestions. I might consider sales or management, at least it would be a change. As far as introversion, I'm not shy, its more like I prefer to work / be myself for a lot of the time. Idle chit chat bores me, especially in group settings. I get antsy easily, I need to be...

    Career advice

I'm 25. I've been doing tech work since high school. I'm current doing internal web site development - I admit I'm bored as hell. There is no challenge to it, no fulfillment. I've pretty much lost any interest in technology. I've thought about changing jobs but I only have experience in...

tell me ways on getting thin, lean and sexy!

It's not just how much you eat but what you eat. Avoid simple carbs. No sugar, no bread, no junk food, no soda, nothing fried. Rice is fine in moderate amounts, stick to brown or basmati rices. Lean meats are fine although try to avoid beef. Seafood is good too in moderate amounts. Basically...

    Your online dating experience...

Don't be too hard on Neil. There are certainly merits to living with parents. I certainly would if I could stand living with them, that’s $15,000 per year I could save on rent. We certainly don't know his life situation; he could be a responsible professional that is smart in saving up for a...

    Your online dating experience...

I tried match about a year ago and didn't have any success with it. Since then I've tried a few free dating sites, but the profiles were very low quality there I didn't get very many responses. I'm guessing women's profiles there get bombarded with emails as everything is free. I've searched...

Are Some Children Just Born Evil?

I believe there are some kids that are just "born evil", due to mal-development in the brain (just like some kids are born “retarded”_. I'd like to believe everyone starts from a "clean slate", but there are just some factors that we can not get around. For example, if a child is born...

"You're stupid if you have this opinion..." Rant

I don't watch tv at all. Sometimes I get a "you don't watch tv???" comment as if I'm the lowest slime on earth. Usually I'll reply back along the lines of, "yeah, I have better things to do than watch cultural trash that rots your brain". People are astounded that I would say something like that...

It's been a while. Who now has VoIP?

I've been using optimum voice for a few months; I've had no problems at all. There isn't any distinguishable difference in sound quality and the service has been very reliable. It also has an option to check your voicemail online. I got the service for the cost savings. There was a promotion for...

    Wasting your life

As you said, "wasting your life" is a perspective. What do you want to get out of life? If you want to have fun and enjoy what you do, do it (as long as it doesn't infringe on others or break any laws). There is nothing "wrong" with watching TV or playing video games per se. It's not exactly the...

Pierce Brosnan out as Bond? (UPDATE: Daniel Craig confirmed)

Anyone remember the rumors of Orlando Bloom being Bond about a year ago? Whatever happened to that? (although I don't think Bloom would be a good bond, he has too much of the "wuss" factor for that). I think Clive Owen would be a great candidate for Bond. Anyone remember the BMW films? He had...

    2005 Mustang revealed!!!

300 hp....13.5 1/4 mile, not that bad. I don't care for the retro look, although I'm sure is moslty for the nostalgia for older folk. The interior is the same way. I don't think its for the younger crowd, although with insurance rates now, most young ones probably couldn't afford it. And it...

    Diet Update...

brown rice is better that white rice, much less refined. Its not really the amount of carbs you have, its the type. refined carbs and sugar mess with your sugar levels and don't metabolize correctly - usually resulting in weight problems(the more refined, the faster it digest and is dumped into...

    Diet Update...

You can also try a "raw diet". Basically, only fruits, vegetables, and nuts.(no grains, dairy, meat, or anything else) Very nutritious and you'll lose weight fast(just keep exercising), but its pretty extreme for most people. I've been on the diet for a few months and it feels great. At least...

    Windows XP-SP2 > Problematic!!!

Mine was successful, except for one annoyance. It keeps bugging me that the software firewall has been turn it off. I turned it off(i have a router) and checked the box that says I have my own firewall, thinking that it would stop bothering me. Anyone have any experience with this?

Went to the BMW "ultimate driving experience today

Have you been to a real autocross? Many of them you only get 4 runs for the entire day(8 hours) and you have to pay $30. I don't know of any autocrosses that give 6 runs in two hours, especialy for free AND you can drive cars that are not yours =p

The Lord of the Cars: The Return of the Civic

Civics are nice albient a bit boring. Very reliable though. My choice for an economy car would be the mazda 3. Great looks, VERY torque engine. 2.4L compared to the civics 1.6L. However, the are a little pricey(for an economy car) at $16,000-$22,000, and don't get as good gas mileage as the...

Finally caved in and got DSL, ditching 56k. What should I be doing to protect my PC?

norton or mcaffee is good for virus scanning. I run adaware every week for spyware. For firewall, any router will do(don't forget to change default password!). If you don't want to buy a router, zonealarm is a good free firewall.

    '05 Subaru Outback Wagon XT

Inline 6 or horizonal 6? Either way, thats a huge(and expensive) step from an H4. Most manufactures go toward the V6. per this link, says 2.5l H4 turbo or 3L H6. imagine boosting a H6(think porsche turbo :) )

"Social Anxiety Disorder", Anyone have it?

Don't forget its still a commercial. They want to convince you to buy their drug, so they list broad traits that almost everyone has had at sometime or another. How NOT to drive on black ice

The thing about blizzaks is the outer tread is ice/snow compound. Once it wears halfway there is all season compound, which has considerably less grips. There are better winter tires if you go mostly freeway with snow occasionally. I run Michelin Aplins in the winter and Falken Azenis in the summer.

    IT Job Rant [Long]

Thanks for the experiences. I'm certainly not at the point at quitting my job, although days are tough. I try to be efficient as possible working. I'm usually one of the top call takers per day. IT Job Rant [Long]

Since there seems to be a lot of experienced people here, what type of skill sets/education do you look at when hiring? Right now I've graduated with an associated degree and have been doing helpdesk for about 2 years. I don't want to stay at helpdesk forever... Are certifications important...
