This is one of those questions my friends and I debated endlessly back in late '78 and early '79 during gym class. I think the Star Destroyer would win- it just looks cooler.
I've watched since season one but I just can't seem to get into this season. I'll continue to watch until the end but not because I am really enjoying it anymore but rather out of a sense of completing something I have started. Hopefully the presentation of the story will get better in the next...
I think Gino decided to end it mostly for his son. He was being forced to work for the Feds as a rat and Tony wouldn't let him out of the "family" business. His son presumably has a serious drug problem and the parents thought that a new location would provide them the opportunity to get him...
I am moving in the next couple of weeks and do not have room in the new house for a TV of this size. It is a Mits 65413 RPTV HD ready. I would prefer to trade it for a decent 32-40" HD ready TV but will sell for $1100 if anyone is interested. I live in Winston Salem NC- for the next 2 weeks- so...
I too saw the show in Raleigh in 1994. It was awsome. We were down on the field, I'd guess 30-40 yards from the stage right beside their equipment where they had the mirrored ball and other similar stuff. Seeing that ball open up and reflect lights all over the audience was incredible. I am...
It could be your gas cap is not on tight enough. I had this happen to a Pontiac of mine once and I took it in. The guy tightened the gas cap and told me that he has seen this happen several times. I felt like a dumba$$ but at least he didn't charge me.
My Sopranos S5 had 2 disc 2 and no disc 1. I was able to exchange at Circuit City with no problem. I did have the receipt though but don't think it would have been a problem anyway.
I'll be watching....I was in the Dean Dome for the game in '93 when Carolina and Duke were ranked 1 and 2 in the country and the Heels pulled it out and went on to win the NCAA championship.
I have both. I bought the 3805 last June after reading all the reviews and good press it got. My honest opinion is that if the 3805 has a feature you want that the DSP-A1 doesn't then it would be worthwhile but in my opinion the DSP-A1 sounds "slightly" better in my system. With that said the...
I believe that as long as you roll the proceeds of the sale from your old home into your new home then there is no problem. The tax portion only comes into play if you pocket the gains. I'm no expert on this but I believe this is what I have read somewhere.
I made this very move about a month ago. My honest opinion is that the Denon is very nice and has many features that the DSP-A1 does not but in MY system and MY room I think the Yamaha sounds better. I put my DSP-A1 in the shop to have the motor on the volume knob rplaced as it was sticking the...
I bought this today before I found out the original music was MIA. I have not opened the set so I can return it but I really enjoyed this series when it was originally aired. Can someone who has bought this and opened it let me know how much the new music takes away from the spirit of the show...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I am still torn on which way to go but am leaning towards the 2400 over the Denon and am undecided on the 507. The 2400 and 3805 definitely have a lot of bang for the buck and I could be very happy with either one of them but I guess my familiarity with Yamaha is...
I am going through the same thing as I too have a DSP-A1 that has served me faithfully for 5 years. I am looking at the 2400 and 3805 and just recently added the B&K 507 to my list although it is substantally more. Between the 2400 and 3805 I am leaning towards the 2400 as it is $200 less, has a...
I have been looking at getting a new receiver and have run across a pretty good deal on a 507. Before running across this deal my focus has been on the Yamaha 2400 and Denon 3805. I listen 60/40 movies to music. My room is fairly small approx 14'*17'*8' and I am running 5 Boston VR-M60 speakers...
Not to hijack this thread but I want (not need) to get another receiver. My dilemna is this- I have a DSP-A1 that is perfect working condition. It does all I need it to do but obviously does not have all the latest bells and whistles. My room is fairly small 14'*17' with 8' ceilings but because...
Robb: I believe you and I exchanged a couple of emails about the VR-M60 vs the VR-MC. There may be some difference but it is slight. I am using the M60 as the center in my main system as I picked up a used pair of M50's for the setup in the living room and am using the VR-MC with them. The VR-M...
I am in the process of upgrading/remodeling my HT and HT room. When I started this I was all set on going with an entry level FP, ie. PLV-Z1 or Z2, Infocus X1, or Sony HS-10 and still want to but as I move along on this project I wonder if a RPTV would be a better choice. My room is approx 16'...
I am using Boston Acoustic VR-M60's as my main and center speakers and they have a hole in the bottom that matches up with the Sanus Steel Foundation stands that allow a screw to secure the speaker to the stand. This was a requirement for me as well as I have small children and pets. The...
