I really liked Douglas Coupland's Souvenir of Canada http://www.amazon.com/Souvenir-Canad...e=UTF8&s=books My Father in law is Canadian, and I learned more christmas morning reading this book a few years ago than in 12 years of public education. Funny, deep, and well written.
I can't believe I'm starting this thread. This has been out for 2 days and we just watched it. If anything, an independent investigation needs to happen into voting machines.
1. Companies not getting their act together before going public on competing new standards. Yes, Sony, I'm talkin to you. Beta, Sacd, etc. Blu-Ray! all of these will die. High Definition digital audio will never be thanks to these boneheads that couldn't agree on 24/32bit and 192 or greater...
You woulda thunk after Matrix making ten gazillion dollars, it would pave the way for more hard sci-fi movies. not so far... What do we have to do to get more real sci fi movies? (more like niven, heinlein, gibson, not xmen 3 crap)
I'm telling you guys, get latex foam sheets and a wool topper... that's the way to go. Best bed I've ever slept in. Westin (at the W) are great for conventional mattresses, but Latex foam is niiice.
Thank you! I've emailed you asking for costs, etc. I mean, I'm 39, got hbo @ 14, and I know I'm not the only one here who remembers that... I remember looking for the movies with the longest disclaimers, and staying up to watch them. ;) Hey, I was 14.
All I know is (from 3 hours on the phone w/ Microsoft and from researching the software) is that the razr software will break Outlook 2003 (the add-in will keep it from running).
Ok, in the same spirit as the Charlie Brown Special thread, who remembers HBO pre 24/7, as they went off the air each evening? They used to have a cute little animation, to a bongo beat, of the dad putting out the milk bottles and the cat (I think) and it was really awesome! Does anyone have...
I can't believe I'm starting this thread. This was a fun movie! I guess it got two thumbs up. I really enjoyed it, especially the skating. As a former roller rink rat (Skate City, Semoran Skateway, and All-American in the Orlando area) I really dug this. I was impressed with Chi McBride and Bow...
I can't stand the phrase "please advise". It sounds so impersonal and demanding. I much prefer "Could you please let me know? or Can you help?" Where did this phrase originate? does anyone know? I've given up on the wrong sentence structure used with the word key. As in, "That is so key". or...
Serial (1980) Martin Mull, Tuesday Weld, Sally Kellerman. One of my all time favorite movies, not yet on DVD. It tells of an everyman trying to cope with the new age scene in Marin County in the 1970s. Heartfelt, cozy, and funny. I'm always hoping this comes out.
I have to put in a side note, beyond being happy that Dave's ok, and say that I think Paul Mooney is brilliant, and needs his own special (at least, if not a show). I haven't laughed that hard in years. Great guy. "I have a question for you too. Where are your teeth?"
After many, many hours of battle, this once weak gamer finally killed the big baddie. Great ending! and I look forward to 3. Wow, this was a hard game. But so much work went into making it, and it was fun/torture/fun. Who else beat this game? I'd love to hear from you... Whew.
Just watched our brand new copy of American pie 2 for the first time; it's defective (freezing for about half of the disc.) Does anyone know the number/contact info for Universal to get a replacement? Thanks!
