Thanks Steve & Zack. I'll pass this info along. He had mentioned that he looked at a Hitachi. off topic: Zack, good luck in Italy. We'll be spending Christmas over there, so maybe we'll run into you. I mean, how big can Italy be? :)
Hey all, I need some help. My father-in-law is in London and looking to buy a plasma TV. He'll only be there a couple more years before moving back to the states, and he wants to bring it with him. He had questions that I couldn't answer, so as always, I came to the HTF'ers for help. First...
Gregory E, I have the same problem. I guess we got bad discs. Although disc 2 looked great. By the way, I hated the layer change. But I'm not sure where else to put it. -Jay
I liked it quite a bit. I gave it a 6.5 out of 10. Not bad at all, but I had some problems with it. For instance, the digital tape shooting. I didn't think this "effect" brought anything to the movie. Just made it a little distracting for me in some scenes. I also didn't appreciate the quick...
Here is my take on The Senator Kelly/Mystique issue: I was probably thinking about this way too much...but my initial thought after the first X-Men was that Mystique would continue to impersonate the Senator. What better way for Magneto to bring people to his cause, than from the "inside". If...
Be strong Ricardo. Stay away from the spoilers. If the Berry/Singer problems on the reshoots are true, I think they could do a third X-Men film without Storm. Heck it would be nice to see some new members. Maybe a different villain (Hellfire Club). Not every film needs to have a strong Storm...
I saw X2 yesterday. In a word....Awesome. I can't wait for the next one. Does anyone know if this cast signed for three films? I thought the action was excellent, the story was great, and the acting was top-notch. Can't wait to see it again. MINOR SPOILER: The cameos were fun. Henry...
I still haven't received mine either. My check was cashed, so I'm hoping they come soon. It seems that several areas around Houston are getting them, so why not my part of town? And also, if I get "Jaws 2", I too, will blow.
I'm still waiting for mine. My shipping & handling check has been cashed, so I hope they arrive soon. I sent my order form back the following Wednesday after About A Boy & Undercover Brother came out. Does anyone have a phone number I could call?
My spoiler free/novice review: I bought it sight unseen, but it had good word-of-mouth, so I took a chance. I enjoyed it a lot. It's definitely not what I expected. I thought it would be a much more light hearted comedy, but it tends to run along the same lines as "Punch Drunk Love" or...
I had no insert in my copy of Secretary. I noticed the chapter list was on the back cover. Did anyone else get an insert in your copy? I was hoping it would include the original theatrical poster or the full "legs" poster. Alas, it was not to be.
I haven't watched the whole thing yet. Just the X-Men part. It appears to be a bunch of making-of featurettes. At the end of the X-Men featurette, it offers a menu of other options for that particular movie. It also has the trailer #1 for X2. Off Topic....Saw Daredevil today. It was good...
Now that you mention it...I did not notice it on the shelf at Best Buy. I wasn't really paying attention though. I'll check out a couple other places tomorrow.
I have "The Usual Suspects" signed by Kevin Pollak. I also have a Gloria Gaynor concert DVD signed by Gloria Gaynor. That was given to me, and I have yet to watch it. -Jay
Darryl, I use Goo Gone. You can find it at Lowes in the "Bathroom cleaner" aisle or at Gerlands. The stickers they put on the disc itself are a different story. If it's the sticker that covers the entire face of the disc, then just peel it off slowly. If it's the three skinny magnetic...
Unfortunately, I missed out on this thread and event. But I'll keep an eye out for future meets in town. I'll try to stay current, as I'd love to meet fellow HTF'ers.
Paul, I noticed the shimmer as well. It looked like something that would happen in a theatre, not on a DVD. Maybe the possible release of a superbit will correct this. I'm watching it from a Sony DVP-NS300.
