More media storage, a dedicated zone for heating and cooling, a rear speaker wire and how in the world could I forget an Cat-5e cable from my router...dumb.
1."Star Wars Episode II The Attack of the Clones" Quite possibly the "must have" demo disc of all time. The reason to own a home theater. 2. "Citizen Kane" The masterpiece is restored in all it's glory. Now film students have a reference disc to view again...and again and again... 3. "T2...
Certainly "Band of Brothers" although it's length might be a bit daunting. I'll second the "Tora! Tora! Tora!" nomination. How anyone who saw that movie could ever watch "Pearl Harbour" is beyond me. Not as historically accurate but "Midway" comes to mind as well as "The Longest Day". One...
Bought the DVD the day it released. I have a real soft spot for the flick as it was a favorite when I was growing up(a local station seemed to have a penchant for it and showed it every other Fri. late for like a year). Very colourful transfer, no doubt as good as we will ever see it but I...
1. Star Wars EPII 2. FOTR EE 3. Moulin Rouge 4. Saving Private Ryan DTS 5. Se7en 6. Star Wars EPI 7. Gladiator 8. Toy Story The Ultimate Toy Box 9. This is Spinal Tap (MGM) 10. Lawrence of Arabia Special Edition
And while I'm on the subject, how about "Lemans". I've looked around and find it very difficult to get any information as to when (if ever) these two titles will be released on DVD. Any information would be helpful. Considering the subject matter and the lack of good racing movies...
Is anyone else experiencing this during DTS playback? I was getting minor dropouts through my Marantz 4200 and Hitachi DVD player. Is this a known issue or is it just me?
Gladiator. Just awesome all around Se7en. Fantastic sound and great extras The Matrix. It's what got me into this madness in the first place Toy Story Saving Private Ryan(DTS). Reference sound and video. Dances with Wolves(DTS). Since I can only list five, these are the must haves.
Hi Brian, I looked at the RP-56 last week and was very impressed. But, since your only inputting to a regular TV, the progressive scan feature doesn't do you any good. If it was me, I'd just grab a cheaper player(Sony 400 maybe?) and save the coin. By the time you get the Widescreen, progressive...
So far with my 4200, DPLII sounds very good with just about any Stereo source. I mostly use a Direct TV reciever(stereo output only) and a Digital Cable reciever(Scientific Atlantic). I agree that older programing is not great but it's gonna sound lousy no matter what you do.
I was one of the lucky guys who happened to find a copy early. Don't ask, I ain't tellin. BTW, it was my fault. I'm still getting used to my new receiver and I guess I messed up. I'm still not sure what I did wrong but if I can get the same thing to happen again, I'll tell you how I did it...
Hi guys. As I'm a bit of a newbie, I have a question that maybe some kind person might answer.
I have just joined the ranks of a budding HT freak. Santa was good to me and I was the luckey recipiant of the following:
Marantz 4200
Paradigm Cinema Series fronts and rears
Paradigm PDR-10...
Wow, the Night Stalker would be great. I loved that show. As a matter of fact, it's the first show I remember my parents allowing me to stay up late for when I was a kid.
Ahh, the memories...
Thanks for the info. Phil, your webpage is very informative and has really made up my mind on the JBL system. As this is my first real Surround system, the choices are mindboggling but it seems I am making the right choice.
thanks again
Hi guys. I got what I think is a great deal today on this package. I just want to know what your thoughts are regarding this:
Room is about 11'x14'
H/K AVR 120
JBL NSP-1 speakers with a Quest 10" sub.
The question I really have is does anybody out there use this combination? The Sub is...
This may be late but I would really like to attend this possible meet. I'm looking for speakers for my HT and it seems like a good chance to see them from the source. If I could get in on this it would be great
Thanks
