When I read 4k Re-Releases, I understand it to be 4k Re-Releases. No mention whatsoever of Blu-ray or DVD. I tend to take things literally when they are presented that way ;)

I have a 4k player & a calibrated 4k OLED display, there's no way I didn't pre-order this on announcement. A bone fide classic. Question for RAH, how does the sepia beginning & end look to you in comparison?

Personally I found my home theater to be superior to both the original & extended at The Cinerama. Perhaps the smaller screen helped. I saw the 1st Hobbit film in the high frame rate version. Hated it.

WTH, I'll pre-order The Trilogy unless the extended versions aren't included which would be ridiculous, unthinkable for Peter Jackson. All you have to do is translate the site linked above. Interesting info.

Just got a release date update from my Amazon pre-order. Thursday Oct. 3rd. Enough time to forget about it again for a while ;) I love this film. Truly unique.
