What are the pro and cons of putting two identical subs (SVS, likely Ultra's) in the front two corners rather than putting both in the same corner. I know I will lose some headroom, and not get the synergistic effect of putting them together, but are there other positives, or other negatives...

I have a SVS CS-Ultra aub. I'm thinking of getting another one. What is the downside of having subs in both front corners of the room?? What are the advantages?? I'm guessing one advantage might be more bass at all seats?? -- John

What do most of these pre/pros and receivers that allow for 7 speakers do with the rear two speakers with a DD or DTS 5.1 signal?? Do they manufacture a false rear channel signal, or do those speakers sit silent?? -- John
