I couldn't agree more. The old version was all reverb. I love the remixed version because you can actually hear the vocals and instruments both all at the same time, as well as individually. I've listened to the CD, and am greatly looking forward to checking it out on vinyl.
FYI for those thinking of picking up the album on vinyl. It actually includes a copy of the CD. Very cool suprise. Great album too. I've been listening to it for a few weeks essentially on repeat in the car. I'm not tired of it yet.
I have purchased albums from them on several occasions, from their old store as well as their new store. Yes, the disadvantage is the slightly high price per song. The quality is noticable however. I have burned every album to a CD (and then rip to MP3 if I want access on another portable...
I too picked this up after reading this thread. Since we won't see the high-res discs for awhile, if ever, this is a must pick up for genesis fans. The seperation of the voice to the center channel had me hearing inflection I hadn't heard in the previous muddy recordings. This DVD begs to be...
DualDisc is the same release as the CD. Mine shipped from J&R on friday (great price). Can't wait to hear it. http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4038790
I got my copy from acoustic sounds last week. I really like the album. It has lyric's to some of the songs from various artists such as Dave Mathews. The lyrics bring a new element to the surround mixes that wasn't present on Audio. I made a copy for the car today...good driving music.
Wow, no replies? No one's interested in David Gray here? You guys are missing out if so. Anyways, multichannel DVD-A is ok. It sounds good, but not a very original use of surrounds. The DVD-A REALLY shines on the stereo layer. It is a crystal clear 192/24 great mix of the album. I...
I received the acoustic sounds newsletter and there is, listed as a new release - in stock. I had no idea it was even coming out, did anyone else know? Ordered it right away and will post a review once it comes. It's a little pricey though at $30.
I have VT1.4 and VS1.4 6.1 setup with a Denon 3801. I absolutely love the sound. My only problem is I live in an apartment and can't open them up too much. Sound is clear and accurate at all volumes though, fantastic speakers.
I had the situation that Scott just described. I asked my cable company to fix my problem and they said no, its not possible. Even though the last cable guy said "Oh god thats bad" the last time he was here, they just don't want to fix it (Comcast).
My ground loop problem was a visual one with...
With your 5800 they are going to be great. I'm running VT1.4's and VS1.4's with a Denon 3801 and absolutely love them. They can go far louder than my current apartment situation will allow. The sound is also clear, I think you'll really like them.
I had the very same problem I noticed when I got my HDTV. There is an easy and cheap solution. Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) has a isolator that breaks the ground loop. I am using one and it works great...and its cheap at $12.
Part number is: 180-075

Not too many NHT guys on here so I got to post mine.
Front: NHT VT-1.4
Center: NHT VS-2.4
Surround: NHT SuperOnes
Rear Center: NHT VS-1.4
Got a small room hence the SuperOnes, but when I move to a bigger room, I'll replace with VS-1.4.
There is also a great video game switchbox made by Pelican. It has little plastic switchable names (comes with almost all systems) to put above the buttons to designate the game system. Nice piece, has S-video, and is fairly cheap.
Found one at FYE, but I can't seem to find it on their...
I was just logging on to report on the ground loop isolator from Parts Express. They were backordered for awhile and I finally got mine yesterday.
It works great!!! I had a nasty ground loop ever since I got my 50H81 and was almost embarrased to show it off. I hooked this thing up in 2...
Jeff - I think some people have been called up DirecTV and asked to speak with their customer retention department. Once you finally get transfered there, I believe if you mention the words "Dish Network" enough they sometimes will give rebates for upgrading your equipment. Don't know if this...
