Does anyone know whether this DVD can be ordered exclusively from Animeigo? I'd like to order it, but they don't ship to Europe. Will it be available at other online stores some time in the future? thanks, Mathias
Just one question: is this supposed to be THAT dark? It's hard to make out any details on this disc. I admit that I like my picture a bit darker usually but this is almost unwatchable. Is this what Martin Scorsese wanted it to look like or did Buena Vista screw this up? I hadn't seen the film in...
Just a little something for those who don't want to wait: A (possibly R3) DVD of The Others will be released in Hong Kong on January 29 (including a DTS track). It's from Universe, and the last Universe discs have been very good (Battle Royale, Series 7 - The Contenders), so I'm going to pick it...
Now, I know this is a little off-topic here and belongs to the regional DVD area, but really, not many people are reading there, and I have to get this out:
I got the new french 2-Disc edition of "Le Pacte des Loups" (Brotherhood of the Wolf) a few days ago, and not only does the film kick ass...
I wanted to get Artisan's release of Breaking the Waves, but the description at amazon and other retailers says it's in 1.85:1, yet B.T.W. has an OAR of 2.35:1. Is the film cropped or is the cover text wrong?

Yup, I'm talking about the Tarantino-scripted pulpfest by Tony Scott. A friend of mine told me the R1 disc isn't that good, and while the recent R2 release looks gorgeous and has DD 5.1, it's not an option for me since they reversed the front channels. So, how's the R1 disc?

I have found two ZULU DVDs at amazon, one for 8.95 and another for 7.00 (which is not in stock). I heard there was a Pan & Scan edition out there (ugh!)... anyone know which DVD is the one to get?
Mathias
There seem to be quite a few DVD editions of this one out there. I found 2 diferent ones on ebay (one from "Front Row Features") and another at amazon (a double feature with "Return of the Street Fighter"). Can anyone recommend one of those? And why are there so many different editions out...
I heard that initially, a defective version of TARZAN was released in Region 1 that had some 5-channel-sound issues. I didn't care whether my copy was one of those since I didn't own a 5.1 setup then. Well, that has changed and now I'd really like to know what version I own. Is there any way to...
I have the original Platinum Series Boogie Nights DVD and I was wondering if it's really worth to get the re-release. Does the film look and sound so much better?
