I finally saw it today. While I cannot say I understood everything and have all the answers, I did see a theme there I thought was interesting. The theme was that sometimes we can control fate, but do not realize it. But sometimes we also think we can control fate but we cannot. Llewelyn...
I'm so hot in the seat to see the HD version of this. I was supposed to watch it tonight, but Netflix bricked on delivery today. :frowning: Thanks for the review.
For the most part, all of the Star Wars and LOTR films are boring to me. The first Matrix was great, the other two were like Sci-Fi Channel original movies. The Warriors is one of the most underrated movies of the 70s. Return of the Living Dead is a much better film to me...
What was up with Sloan's glasses tonight? Did he get them out of a box of Lucky Charms? Also, I died laughing when Jack brushed off Marshall during the mission and Marshall responded with: "Vaughn invitied me to lunch (smarmy look)"
The best tribute bands I have seen live are the Kiss tribute band "Strutter", and the Beatles tribute band here in Dallas "Hard Days Night". The don't try to dress or look like the Beatles but they sound just like them. It's scary.
I like the Rave in Hickory Creek also except for the crowds. It is such a pain in the ass sometimes, but depending when you go it can be okay. I'm interested to see how the new Cinemark in Denton is going to go. The theater I most usually frequent is the UA behind BootTown in Lewisville...
During commercials I don't give a crap if someone talks. During previews, I prefer people no talk but I am not going to shush them because ultimately, I am not paying for the previews. However, once the feature starts I will take action. Usually a menacing look, first and if that doesn't work...
Have you check your cables? I have had the same TV for about a week and am using a cheap Sony P-Scan player, and mine looks great. If your HDTV picture looks good your component cables may be bad. Even before your try other cables try using those cables on the second component input and see...
One of my favorite movies of all time. I wish they could do a reunion with all the surviving main cast members for a commentary. Walter Hill made a lot of turkeys, but I don't think people realize how many good flicks he made (including Crossroads in '86). I may have to watch The Warriors...
I have been using JD Edwards (mulitple versions for the different business units of my company) for over two years now. A couple of months ago I started learning WorldWriter for my new position. The IT person that was training me got fired so I have been learning and figuring things out on...
I could recyccle a lot of the things already being said here, specifically many of the positives, but i'll just say this. It is not often that I have really felt like I have gotten to know a character as well as I did with Max. I think his personality and traits were developed very well. Kudos...
I did not look through the whole thread, but here are some of my favorites: Poltergeist: "Mommy, they're here" The Color Purple: Miss Celie preparing to shave "Mister" and Shug running to stop her,OMFG!!, Shug singing her way to the curch followed by the entire juke joint. I think these are...
If you really do your homework, you may be able to get a Fuji S7000 under $400 or even it is more it is worth splurging. Great camera (and 6 MP to boot). If not you can always go for the F700. Ultra compact but takes great pictures (matrixed 6MP). Here are some I took. I shot at 3.2 MP and...
A combination of patience, luck, and slow movement (especially butterflies). It tool me about 30 minutes to get the shots of the monarchs. John, Thanks for the feedback. I am starting to use the rule of thirds more, I had been so caught up in trying to "dial" myself in with my cameras with...
I agree, Man-Fai's pics rock. I was wondering if you all could thorw some criticique my way. I have just gotten back into photography after a long absence (and since the mainstream advent of digital) and would like to know what people think. Here is my gallery They are about 1/4 full...
