The ideal way to do this is for your preamp to have a HT pass through. It basicaly sends the signal straight through to the amp. Volume is controlled by the receiver.
Queston for 1014 owners. What does the receiver do with sound fields and channel levels when switching inputs? Will it remember the last sound field when you switch back to a input (like Denon) or will it keep the presently selected sound field? Thanks,
Tingwe, not sure how the 1014 is but most receivers tend to have higher distortion on the sub out when cranked up in the receiver. Therefore, I try to run the sub out
I have also been researching NB's in the same $ range. BB has a nice Toshiba for 1K after rebates: Celeron 2.8gig, 512ram, 15", 40gb, dvd drive. It was a very quiet machine too. Dell is similar but you can customize it. I'm deciding now if the DVD-r is worth the $200 more. Probably will be for...
If you can DIY yourself check out the Partsexpress DIY's for $138. They sould great but are a 4 ohm load and inefficient. I heard them at the MAF2002 and was very impressed.
Thank you for the good news. Let's hope they get the bass mgmt. right!! It does seem like a good player. Of course we will have to wait to hear the thing first.
That was very well explained, Jagan. I've tried to ask the same question before but never got a usable answer. Can you explain the differences in those DAC's using interlaced or proscan modes? In other words, do the faster DAC's help in interlace mode or just in proscan? Thanks,
Do the DVD Players with higher video DAC's improve interlaced playback or just progressive scan mode? I see the Sony 755 has 108Mz/12bit vidio Dacs. Will this improve video in interlaced mode? Does it require something to be recorded in 108/12 like audio? Thanks for your help.
Just a note. I generally agree with spreading speakers and giving them room to "breathe." However, did you ever notice...say a car going from left to right. The car can enter the screen but the sound is farther to the left. The sound is not where the action is. I don't know if I am making...
