Here we are at work and the topic is...are 16x9 tv's screen size measured diagonally the same as 4x3 are. Definitely not hard at work:D

What I want is a basic 'HTPC' to play the odd VCD because my fairly old but reliable DVD player does not play them. What I have is ..500MHZ PIII,256MB Ram,TNT2 Ultra vid card with TV out,Pioneer 10x DVD-Rom drive,Soundblaster live card,Power DVD XP(I think is called). Could any of you fine folks...

I have the chance to purchase this player for $50 CDn which is about $30usd...is this a good deal..player looks good and works...anybody know anything about it?

My DVD Rom drive will not read DVDs. It clicks and grunts for about 15 sec and then spits the disc out. It is a pioneer 10x drive...not sure of model. Not a problem to watch the movie..use standalone player for that but would like to access the Rom material on the discs. Thanks for any suggestions

I am looking for a bargain sub...I know about the Sony Sub...anybody know anything about the AR-S108PSB from Acoustic Research. It got pretty good comments on Audioreview.com. I can get it for $229Canadian which is about $150USD. Thanks.
