To save what appears to be invaluable server space why doesn't the HTF prevent people from having these large, unwieldy signatures with jpegs and other gaphical images that are really quite unnecessary? Surely this will help to free up a vast amount of space? Also, there are hundreds of photos...
You see?!? This is what happens - seemingly every thread will be twisted and distorted so that yet another argument about OAR rears its' ugly head. Can you guys not have a conversation without going on and on and on ad nauseum about OAR even when the thread is not actually about OAR?! Why must...
Hi Just interested in knowing what the difference between, 'Joe six-pack' and the rest of the forum membership is? Are people who use this term insinuating that we are all part of some elite club - differentiated from the, "common" masses? Perhaps it is terms ilke this and the snobbery and...
Hi I have read this thread with great interest and whilst I absolutely do not want to come across as smug I have to point out that the withdrawal of studio support in reaction to posts here has been something I have warned would happen for some time both on this and other forums. I do not...
Hi I have a collection of 600 titles that I need to sell. The majority of them are sealed and unopened. Most are major titles and there are quite a few Criterion titles included too. I want to sell them all as a complete collection as splitting them would be a logistical nightmare so this is...
Whys is everyone replying just that they've completed this survey? And why the assumption that it's for a used media trading site? The questions may have leaned in that direction but who knows! I don't think there's a market for a used media trading site but this may not be what this is about.
I completely agree Thomas. This has been a bugbear for me for some time. I find it utterly bizzare that many people froth at the mouth when a film is released in P&S when it is available in it's OAR as well. Consumer choice is surely a good thing - even if the choice of others doesn't always...
How ridiculous is all this! I don't see anyone who received their copy of the LOTR early complaining about breaking street dates - it seems to be those who didn't who are the most vocal about this issue. And I have to say thatthe level of hypocrisy on display here, as well as the sermonising, is...
No these featurettes are not DVD-Rom at all and both the R1 and R2 discs are identical in terms of content. I have them both so can confirm this with 100% certainty.
And whether you can actually hear this somewhat debatable notion of a 4% increase in speed of sound then the decision is yours! The R2 edition is superb!

What would be the purpose of this advertisement? I am quite certain that those who are involved in the marketing and creation of DVDs are well aware of the pan and scan issue. And why, ‘Variety’ magazine? Do you think the readers of this magazine will be swayed by an advertisement placed by the...
Firstly let me state that this is a review of the Region 2 edition of Lord of the Rings, which I believe will be identical to the Region 1 version. I have not gone in to detail on the film itself because if you don’t know what this is all about by now then you really should get out from under...
Hi There seems to be an awful lot of zealotry here about the OAR of a movie and yet in many of these threads I see the same people who crusade against any film not being released in the OAR that they think it should be in getting excited about the possibility of Dts transfers, DD tranfers as...
Interesting - although I would be even more interested to know who you were talking to and which studio - if they are happy to talk to the owner of a forum then I would have thought that they should be happy to proffer their support for the widescreen format here, especially as this is...
I don't want to get drawn into this (what seems to me to be rather puerile) argument about chapter stops and the like. The original post asked for an early review. Whilst I do not have the time to post a full review - you'll just have to read the magazine for that, I can tell you that the...
