Steve, I am currently using the 12" Shiva and a 15" Dayton in 2 seperate enclosures and I love them both, so I would suggest, as other have, to just find which is the better deal. I am pretty sure you will be happy with which ever has a better price. -KL
The sonotub that I got was not perfectly round when I did initial measurements and I cut them to what the tape said. But when it came time for the placement, they were approximately an inch off. But if you are in doubt, cut it big, it is much cheaper to trim down than to have make new circles.
I got my veneer at home depot. They only had 2 or 3 different type in stock but you could special order from a large variaty. Maybe you just need to see if your HD will order some for you. It will cost a little extra to get it shipped but if thats the only place you can get it, a little extra...
I agree, this is the DIY and Advanced area and not really the place to be buying and selling...

Scott,
The sonosubs that I have built have been under $200. I think the first one cost me $190 using a 15" Dayton and the second one cost somewhere around $165 using a 12" Shiva Mark II.
In planning for these subs, I(well mainly Seungsoo) used WinISD Hope this helps.

Nice work Seung, the pictures work for me...you cant even notice the blemishes. you are gonna have to break down and buy the necessary equipment to measure how the sub performs then let me borrow it so I can do the same for mine

You really only need enough screws to make sure the sides are tight together. Im sure one box would be plenty for your construction.

Thats the method I used (screws and glue) on my Kit81s. The only time it split the MDF was the first screw I put in and didn't make a pilot hole. Everyone after that went in with out spliting the wood. I found the method to be pretty easy.

I finally tracked down a digital camera so I could post some pics of my recently completed projects. The sub specs are 18"D and 28" tall tuned to (hopefully) somewhere around 27. I had to make this this one much smaller than my first sonosub because I don't think the college will allow me to...
I dont have any clamps that are big enough though, so screws are really my only choice, arent they?. I have been drilling pilot holes and have only had one of screws split the wood. Is there a better way to do this other than screws and clamps?
Thanks,
Kevin
Thanks for all the suggestions, I think I will do a combination of lots of wood glue and lots of caulk around the sides before puting them on, then I'll use wood screws and clamps to make sure they are sealed up.
Thanks,
Kevin Liedtke
Im nearing the completion of the cabinets for my kit81s and as I was getting ready to put the back panel on the cabinet, I found that my caulk gun wont fit into the mid woofer hole. How does one go about sealing the box after it is all put together?
Thanks
I guess the holes could be square but I dont know enough about this stuff to start to deviate from the premade plans from Adire's site :)

I purchased myself a couple of the Kit81s from Adire Audio and have run into a small problem with cutting the air flow holes in the internal braces. My router is pretty unreliable in the smaller circles and the ones the plans call for are 2"R. I am thinking I have to free hand all of the...
