regarding the various gunbarrels filmed...they may not be perfectly circular in the Panavision Bond films as these films were shot with anamorphic lenses. Only a hunch though.
what made it even sweeter initially, .when I bought Superman: The Movie: 4 Disc set originally at FutureShop in Montreal...was that it was on FS's web site for $14.99 the day the collection was released..but in store at $32.99 each. Web price discrepancy. Of course they changed the web pricing...
I live in Canada and I have not received my mailer as yet. I just called the 800 number in the US and spoke to a fellow named Byron who very politely informed me that the Canadians will need to be serviced thru WHV in Canada at a later time TBD. He also mentioned to me that the replacement discs...
FutureShop/Bestbuy in Canada had all 4 sets for $49/$45 each respectively on Dec 26-27 but I think the prices are back to normal. HMV Canada may still be selling them for $49 each, you may want to check them out
I just received this DVD today from Amazon UK just after ordering it only 4 days ago. To mention...the DTS sound is AWESOME..especially the bass.. and the picture is SPOT ON !!!!!. I received the disc via std Royal Air Mail from the UK. Faster than the regular domestic postal service...
my concern about the Region 1 discs is that they will get rid of the DTS soundtracks for a French language track because of Quebec. Most of the DVD's in R2 have either single or dual audio commentary tracks, along with a DD5.1 and DTS track. Between that and the extras on disc 1...I wonder if...
Fellow Americans..please let me know if you can provide a Hi-Quality scan of the US release dvd cover. Either that or if someone has produced a photoshop version with the original poster artwork. All we can buy in Canada is a release with a bilingual cover...help !!!!!!! Ian
There is no doubt that Zip.Ca is a great service. They have hard to find titles that BB and your typical Mom/Pop shop just don't carry. I don't miss going into the videostore anymore to look around. What would be really is great if they rented out XBOX and Playstation games. I don't know if this...
Max, Don't expect your next DVD's to come via express parcel. This happened to me also on the very first delivery. All subsequent discs have been shipped regular mail. THis could be different for you as you live far away from Ottawa. The discs generally take 2-3 days to get to me in MTL...
I have been renting from Zip.CA for the last 3 months and can recommend it very highly. I am averaging 16-20 rentals a month. At $24.95 plus tax, its working out to $1.60 a title. The TV Series they carry are a big bonus. Ian
Anthony, As you know, FutureShop does from time to time not list all the features on the DVD's. All we will have to deal with is the bilingual packaging....and does anybody know how " Top Gun" translates into French as this is what we will see on the front of the case....
interesting to note is that this release includes a Dolby 2.0 English track. Not sure if this information was known when the DVD's were announced way back when. Fox typically doesn't include 2.0 English unless its in the form of commentary but Lucasfilm included it on the Ep1 and 2...
To CHris in Orlando..... You will only be able to do the printscreen/capture active video if you have the DVD playing in your DVD-ROM drive. For some reason..if you play the video off your HD, then the printscreen utility doesn't work for either Nero SHowtime or PowerDVD. Can't figure...
To Miles in Halifax........ DVD Shrink is showing you the compressed video state at 4430 mb,....if you toggle to no compression it will show the full 6500 mb for the video portion.
I have placed a print screen on Sendpix, you may have to double click it to see the information which clearly says DTS 1536kbs on the Canadian release http://www.sendpix.com/albums/04083019/9l3pcw9hf5/
I double checked the audio and video sizes on the Canadian release, with a different software utility and it confirmed my initial findings on PowerDVD: Video at 6738 Mb audio AC3 5.1 at 448 Mb audio DTS 5.1 at 1508 Mb
interestingly enough.......the DVD I have has a Warner Bros Logo preceding the film. This DVD is the genuine article, not a knockoff. No Fox Logo's on the DVD case or disc itself, only on the back is the usual Fox copyrights in microscopic print below the language grid...
