Here's mine: 1- 1941 2- Hook 3- The Lost World Just kidding. I'm gonna provide two list. The first one is my favorites but mostly for nostalgic reason. The second is what I consider his Best movies. Nostalgia: 1- Raiders of the lost Ark 2- Close Encounter of the Third Kind 3- E.T. The...
Ok, I'll play. These are my favorites movies or the last 8 years (but not necessarily the "best") 1THE LORD OF THE RING TRILOGY 2LOST IN TRANSLATION 3CHILDREN OF MEN 4THE INCREDIBLES 5MINORITY REPORT 6ZODIAC 7THE DARK KNIGHT 8THE DEPARTED 9DONNIE DARKO 10MEMENTO
I've replaced Sarah Marshall with Wanted. I've also put the link to the previous year's top tens. Now if a moderator could change the title of the thread...
I also though Indiana Jones was entertaining, and upon multiple viewing, some of the irritants disappears (like the three fall or the groundhogs). I still can't get over Tarzan-Shia thought. I really liked the sci-fi approach.
For old time's sake, here are the links to the previous years: Our top of 2005 Our top of 2006 Our top of 2007 Okay here's my tentative list which will change for sure in the coming weeks. 1- THe Dark Knight I was surprised how good it was despite the enormous hype. A great...
The most immersive scene ever done is the Omaha Beach invasion in Saving Private Ryan. I would also add the incredible one-shot action scene at the end of Children of Men.
That exactly what I thought would happen. I expected that big black prisonner to push button and blow the prisonner's boat. Obviously, I was really surprised when he threw the detonator away. It's one of the strenght of the movie; you really don't know what's gonna happen.
For the unicorn, it obviously means that Deckard could be a replicant, but it's not sure! (unless Ridley Scott said he was sometimes ago) For the Memento part, I don't know what it means!
I'm trying to get a list of these movies featuring mysterious scenes that were never explained but theorized to death on the web. Here are the examples that comes to mind: The Briefcase in Pulp Fiction: What does it contain?? The secret conversation in Lost in Translation The meaning of...
Finally caught up a bit of the late year releases. 1- ZODIAC Whoah, I didn't expect that movie to be that good. I was totally compelled by the investigation and the detail in the movie. Very well made. Fincher does it again. In 1995, Se7en was my movie of the year. 2- The Bourne...
I also saw the movie yesterday. It is my third best Pixar movie after The Incredibles and Toy Story II. I give 4/5 for now, but get the feeling this could go up. One thing certain, it is the best movie of the year so far. The images were spectacular, well-written and really entertaining. 4/5
The problem is not Amazon related. I bought mine at Best Buy and am having problems playing it in my 360 add-on. The disk is unreadable unless I insert/eject the disk 3 or 4 times. When the disk is succesdully read, though, I don't have any problems afterwards!
I agree. This actress has the most charisma I've seen in a long time. She has a Dakota Fanning's vibe, without the freakiness. Just look at her smile when she's running against the boys. There's an absolute sense of joy conveyed there that's almost contagious.
I've got another one: Wild things Cant remember what the twist was, except that it was AFTER the end credits. I think Mortal Thoughts had a good ending (that movie will Bruce Willis and Demi Moore)
Yes it was Shattered. I loved that twist! The character Tom Berenger is looking for is none other than himself.
Other movies that comes up: Mulholland Drive The whole character switch.
Pan's Labyrinth Not really a twist, but Ofelia's death was quite a powerful way to end the movie...
The best twist ending ever are obviously these two as far as I'm concerned: Psycho (Mom related) The Empire Strikes Back (Dad related) In the underrated department, I'd like to add The Machinist where you really understand the psychology/breakdown of the main character.
